Holiday homes in Murau
Murau is a fantastic destination for a varied holiday in beautiful
Styria. The historic town lies in the valley of the River Mur, which winds its way from
Austria through Slovenia,
Croatia and
Hungary. From November to February, the beautiful Mur Valley turns into a winter wonderland. Murau itself is not a real winter sports resort (that is
Sankt Lorenzen ob Murau, a little further down the road), but the Kreischberg
winter sports area is practically around the corner. Murau is also an excellent base for exploring the slopes in this area. But Murau is also an excellent holiday destination outside the winter sports season. In spring, everything is in bloom, and in summer you can also go for lovely
walks and
bike rides. So, get out and about and discover the most beautiful spots in Styria.
Enjoy yourself the whole year round
A holiday home in Murau has everything you need for a lovely holiday in Austria. There are numerous fun attractions for the
kids, and with a
playground and swimming pool nearby there is always something to do. For example, a visit to Schloss Murau, the impressive castle that looks down on the town from a high hill. A completely different attraction is the Brauereimuseum, which has been showing the traditions of beer brewing for more than 500 years. A ride on the "Mur Valley Railway", an old-fashioned steam train, is also fun. And if you like
playing golf, there are two golf courses in the area. So there are plenty of reasons to go for a holiday home in Murau!
