A modern snowmaking system ensures dream runs until the end of the season.
Cross-country skiers will also find several trails (about 30km and 20km vicinity Kreischberg Turracherhohe). For the children there is on the track a variety of entertainment. Snowboarders can enjoy themselves in the snowboard airypark (www.airypark.com) of Kreischberg. Kreischberg has the largest halfpipe in Europe.
Regular Kreischberg is the setting for the FIS Snowboard World Cup.

Another ski area is near 15 km deTurracherhohe. The ski resort (1400m - 2205m) on the Turracher Hohe is located on the edge of the nature Nockalm. The high altitude slopes are open from late November to late April. All slopes can be covered with artificial snow. 13 km of the total 42 km of slopes are blue, 22 km red and 3km black.

It is possible to buy a lift pass (www.skiberge.at) Murtaler Skipass for 8 areas in the vicinity. This gives you access to 160 km of pistes.

Each resort has its own ski and snowboard school and there are opportunities (cross country) to rent skis and snowboards.

The ski area Obertauern (www.ski-obertauern.at) is located approximately 40 km from Stadl an der Mur.
