Welcome to the green heart of Austria! We (Peter and Paula) all went with our parents used to Austria. Now we are themselves the owners of a chalet and 2 holiday houses that we have completely rebuilt. We are very happy. We enjoy the tranquility, nature, lovely people and delicious food. The ski resorts in the area are superb and in the summer the hiking boots! Take a taste and enjoy our pictures!

Location & area recommendations

Additional information

We are Peter (47) and Paula (51) and had always been a dream of buying a second home. Rest, nature, fun, skiing and hiking / biking was the condition. Five years ago we built our chalet. By his own desire cozy with everything on there (it's still our 2nd home). Peter was always used in winter to Austria and Paula in the summer. We have chosen this area because it is so wonderfully quiet that Austria earlier. In the winter we enjoy fine on skis, snowboard and cross country skiing. Our nephews love it here. Furthermore, we walk a lot (even in winter) and in autumn we find mushrooms. Since last year we discovered golf. The 18 hole golf course is fantastic! And just like in Holland we cycle a lot (only do you kick a little harder in Austria).
Who are we?

Near the chalet is an 18 hole golf course. Many winter sports, cycling, walking, etc.

Sights
There are a variety of wood museums. In the summer there is a steam train. Enjoy the tranquility and beautiful surroundings!
Other activities
The house is located near several ski areas. We go mostly to himself Kreischberg (2 minutes) and Turracher Hohe (25 minutes). The ski resorts have each 40 km of slopes. At 50 minutes drive away Obertauern with over 150 km of ski pistes.Het Turracher Hohe, surrounding a lake, where you can cross country skiing. The ski has a very special form here!
Winter sports
The ski area has 40 km of pistes Kreischberg. There is just a new 6-seater chairlift built. On top of the mountain is a panoramic restaurant built with a fantastic view over all the mountains in the area. In the area are several nice restaurants where you (quite affordable) dining. Most slopes are wide so even beginners can manage well. For the (far) advanced, besides the broad slopes of black slopes constructed. The ski area is pleasant and clear, so you can easily agree with the whole family or friends somewhere for lunch.
Ski Kreischberg
The ski resort of Turracher Hohe has 40 km of slopes and start at almost 1800 meters. Last year was the ski area opened in late October to early May. Even skiers and hikers can enjoy. There is 20 km of cross country trails and 20 km of hiking trails uitgezet.Er are more red and black pistes than in Kreischberg. But for beginners, it is here to do good.
Ski Turracher Hohe
There are several ski areas nearby. On 2 minutes away is the ski Kreischberg. The area is calm, clear and ideal for children. At the mountain station of the lift is a trampoline and a job where your tubing with a big band on a trail off the mountain you glide.
Children on a skiing
You can in this part of Austria still good food for not too much money. Main meals cost approximately between 7 and 12 euros and a 3-course meal costs about 13 euros. Children's meals are about 6 euros. The drinks are good to pay. The prices in the area are almost identical to the prices in the restaurants dorp.Veel use products from nearby farms or slaughter itself. and that you can still taste it!

Our house is "child friendly" style. Your pets are also welcome!
Children and pets
In summer, the tourist office organizes a program for children. They can visit a beekeeper, fishing, archery, to the fire, a treasure hunt and do crafts in wood museum (nice in bad weather). Also feeding deer or a visit to the farm is possible.

Although the station is 500 meters away, own transport is recommended. The trains do not run as often as here.
