That's how it was 5 years ago: the new planting started to grow well and is now even more lush
From the backyard you enter the backyard, a small word for a large area. The wild flowers may be picked, and there is a playground for the children in this area, which runs two hundred meters, until behind the trees you see there
Nature in Hungary is very similar to that in Western Europe, but there are often small surprises in the flora and fauna! Lying on your back under a tree in the hills in the spring... beautiful!
In this kitchen you live, work and rest just as comfortably as at home. This is not making do, as people say in Groningen.
The dining table with room for enough guests - and it's extendable too!
There is enough material for the real cook and bakliefhebbers. It is nice to be in the kitchen, the heart of the house.
From the cool kitchen to the warm outside goes directly into this traditionally decorated Hungarian house.

In the living room it is cool and quiet. For the evenings there are films, books, magazines and games
There are no small bedrooms in this house - just great, with lots of space to carry your own stuff for a comfortable stay. Bedding is abundant.

.... and between the bedrooms is the spacious landing, with a table and chairs where children have the space to play games on a rainy day.
The bathroom with shower and bathtub is downstairs
Upon arrival you enter: the front door, which is immediately the hallway and the kitchen. Meanwhile, the outer wall looks better because we have insulated and re-stuccoed.
Take a boat trip on the Tihany peninsula to the other side. Worth it! There are also tours to book over the lake.
In March 2015, we built the two evening terraces behind the old ruin. Here you can enjoy the sun that disappears behind the hip bridge.
In southern Hungary, a few hours drive, is Pécs, with its beautiful center. The south has been a very different atmosphere than Northwestern Hungary. It's definitely worth a trip!
Walks can be made anywhere around the village, in any season. This was a spring walk at the end of March 2015, with the typical blue flowers that then bloom along the stream in the forest.
A walk in May. You walk up the hill and you are surprised by a beautiful view over Lake Balaton.
The house in this wonderfully quiet village can also be used in winter! This is the Main Street of Hidegkut.
These images are in Herend porcelain, a village west of Veszprem. Here is one of the most famous porcelain factories in Europe.

Here you can see our village Balatonakali from the air. It is good to see that our house is very close to Lake Balaton!
Our cozy living room where you will quickly feel at home. HD TV with Dutch channels and free WIFI
In the drawer of the dresser in the living room is a lot of information about Hungary.
Through these steps, go to the 1st floor where you found 2 bedrooms. The one with 2 single beds, the other with a double bed. Both rooms have wardrobes and hangs a seiling fan.De windows have shutters and mosquito nets.

Gas stove, convection oven, fridge-freezer, microwave oven, slicer, coffee maker in the kitchen at your disposal to prepare your meal.
Lovely to get up in the morning after a good night's sleep in the master bedroom, which also has a ceiling fan. The plastic window is fitted with mosquito nets. Also here is a linen cupboard with clothes hangers.
The toilet is in the bathroom and a 2nd toilet on the first floor.
In the mirror you will see the stall opposite the sink.
Next to the master bedroom is another bedroom with two single beds and wardrobe. There is a ceiling fan who cares if it is very hot. A cool idea confidence to know that mosquitoes do not come inside true the mosquito nets.
On the first floor is a 2nd toilet and an extra sink. Very useful for if you have the night off to.
On our 18m2 terrace you can enjoy a delicious breakfast in the morning or in the evening. The fan provides some cooling
Our front garden is not large, but for us it is practical in maintenance.
And so our parking lot for our house looks like.

Is not it wonderful to see how your child can have fun here at the children's beach Balatonakali!
Your appetite will be on the beach completely disappear by the wide range of menus that you can choose. A beer / glass of wine or cocktail ice slushpuppie is plentiful available and much cheaper than in the Netherlands !. Your pleasure.
The lawn of Balatonakali a nice place to sunbathe and enjoy a good book or to rest in short it is to enjoy the beach.

From the pier you can take a nice boat trip on Lake Balaton.

Fek grocers near Balatonakali of super fast and easy as buying fresh bread in the morning. For larger purchases, you should drive to Balatonfüred.
Fek restaurant very nice both inside and outside on the terrace and the menus are varied and tasty. Fek restaurant is 1 of 6 restaurants in Balatonakali where you can create delicious menus there is a varied choice and still enjoy affordable!.
From this location at the Abbey Church, enjoy a beautiful view of the mountains and Lake Balaton in Balatonfüred.
A nice trip to the vineyard Badascony is worth waard.Overal you can taste Hungarian wines, they caress your tongue.
You must have experienced floating in the world famous Héviz thermal bath!
Some of the typical Hungarian producten.Paprika's, pálinka, salami, wine, souvenirs etc.
Grapes are abundant both red and white but also deliciously sweet apricots, cherries and plums thrive well here. Walnuts and almonds abound and delicacies of all Hungarians make it because they can do good!
Megastores such as Tesco, Lidl and Aldi you find them in Veszprem, Tapolca, Keszthely even on Sundays they are open.
This hang glider flight, it is possible to make very exciting to do!
This location in Balatonfüred is the promenade to the harbor where you can enjoy shopping or choose a nice terrace.
At about 20 minutes from our house is the fortress of Szigliget once on top you have a phenomenal view of several mountains in the area.
Instead Káptalantóti is weekly on Sunday a nice bio and crowded market you can find the most delicious products such as bread, cakes, honey, fruits, vegetables, jams but also clothing and jewelry are for sale and not expensive!
The most famous coffee house at 1 in the world after New York Cafe in Budapest. The place to be!

In the Kossuth Lajos utca (street) is a household goods shop with a wide range. In the same street you can go to a post office. There is also an auto parts store in our village that is always handy in time of need.
This is the children's playground in our village where the smaller kids can let off steam.
By taking a boat trip on a lake with a pleasure boat on Lake Balaton, you will see something different.
The Watchtower in Révfülöp offers a phenomenal view of Lake Balaton. The Hungarian word for watchtower is Kilátó. Since 2016, there is also one in Tihany.

The pleasant harbor of Balatonfüred is only 14 km away from our house. There is a parking garage where you can pay in advance, so keep coins / forints close at hand. You cannot pay with a bank card, but with euro money

Enough to see and do in Hungary

A holiday to Hungary, located in Central Europe and surrounded by as many as 7 countries. The most famous river of Hungary, the Danube River, it crosses the Hungarian country from North to South. Despite a number of mountains, the landscape is mainly flat. Hungary has two major tourist attractions; the capital, Budapest which is divided by the river Danube and has many attractions, including the 9 famous bridges over the Danube River that connects both boroughs. Also really popular is Lake Balaton, also called the Hungarian Sea, the biggest attraction for tourists. The largest lake in Central and Western Europe is best known for the South Bank, because the water is warmer, the beaches are wider and are easier accessible than the north shore of Lake Balaton.

Pécs: markets and monuments

Pécs is one of the largest cities, located in the South-West of Hungary in the Mecsek Mountains and located in Baranya. This university city of Hungary is famous for its ceramic industry and the wines. In 2009 the city was elected for cultural capital of 2010, together with Essen and Istanbul. the center of Pécs, you will find typical Hungarian shops, cozy markets and beautiful monuments. There are enough things to do in this city to be entertained for hours!
