holiday house in Carpathians, Romania – Kujava
Nice swimming pool with an outdoor shower behind the house with lots of privacy.
The living room with dining area, air conditioning installation, air fan and wifi. This part is also equipped with a double sofa bed, a wood stove and a fireplace. From the living room you have access to 2 balconies, to the kitchen and a staircase to the upper floor,

Bedroom 1 with patio door to private balcony on the east. This room is the master bedroom and has a large wardrobe. The windows are equipped with sun-resistant roller shutters and mosquito nets throughout the house.

I built this kitchen myself from beautifully finished concrete. The kitchen is equipped with an oven, electric hob, fridge, freezer kettle and all appliances and crockery for 9 people.

The house is located in the Bjelopavlici valley between Danilovgrad and Nikšic. Our house is located near the village of Kujava.
Front yard
Around the corner from our house you will encounter this: a tumulus. This is a cemetery from about 2500 BC. Usually these are covered with a layer of sand, which makes it a burial mound. This one here has been uncovered by archaeologists. These burial mounds can be found all over Europe (including the Netherlands).

This wine, the watermelon and the bread all come from the immediate area.
This is a neighbor from Kujava, who goes into the valley every day with his sheep. Here you can see his sheep in front of my house.

One of the nicer restaurants within cycling distance of our house directly on the Zeta: Konoba Svera. Excellent and very fresh kitchen with great friendly service and of course not expensive. Be sure to try the fish soup and the fried trout or eel (from the Zeta).
Beach on the Zeta (plaža Tvorilo) where you can barbecue, canoe, swim, buy a nice cold beer, nice chairs, hammocks, etcetera. Just behind our house, 5 minutes by car.
The Zeta is always close by in the valley. There are many beautiful swimming spots and beaches on the Zeta. The water is fresh. A wooden suspension bridge over the Zeta. You can cross it with a (narrow) car, even if it seems risky.
Canoeing in the Zeta. Here the arrival in Danilovgrad. The water is crystal clear. All around you see and hear birds such as the egret, cormorant, kingfisher, golden oriole, bee-eater, hoopoe and nightingale. Montenegro is known for its many bird species.
This monastery is visible from the house. The famous Christian Orthodox monastery of Ostrog, built in the mountains, where tens of thousands of people go on pilgrimage every year. Definitely worth going to.
In the town of Danilovgrad there is a sculpture museum with a beautiful sculpture garden outside. International artists exhibit here with their on-site marble sculptures from the neighboring mountains.
Beautiful Christian Orthodox monastery church in Danilovgrad: Manastir Ždrebaonik. Here you can buy local medicinal herbs and herbal teas made by the resident nuns.
If you have time, visit the donkey farm in the small mountain village of Martinici. Here, among other things, old donkeys are taken care of. The owner milks the donkeys here and sells the milk for medicinal reasons.
Figs being dried. Everywhere you can buy fresh figs, tomatoes, watermelon, grapes and so on in the summer. In October the mandarins, persimmons and pomegranates are ripe. Homemade cheeses, smoked hams, local grappas (loza) and wines can be bought in many places.
Local wineries around Skadar Lake. Often, but not everywhere, you can also drink and buy their wine there.
On the way to the coast a view of the famous Bay of Kotor. This photo was taken on the so-called 29 snakes (hairpins) road.
From the terrace somewhere on the Bay of Kotor directly into the sea with always a wonderful water temperature and crystal clear water.
On the way to Budva, really take the exit to Crnojevica. The panoramas are great. In Crnojevica you can enjoy delicious food from the river fish, canoe, make boat trips. From here, take a walking tour along the river upstream. You will encounter beautiful waterfalls and rock caves.
Here in the luxurious Porto Montenegro in Tivat on the coast of Montenegro you can drink and buy very good local wines.
The famous Tara and Tara Canyon. Here you can enjoy great rafting under supervision. From here a beautiful route to Kolašin. From Kolašin you can drive directly to Podgorica via the new highway. Enjoy the breathtaking views.
This is me. My name is Hans and here I am sitting in front of one of the nicest bars in Podgorica, Itaka, a former Turkish bathhouse. I live in Eindhoven and rent out my house with love and care to everyone who loves peace, beautiful nature and a spacious and well-maintained house.
From the Tara back home via Durmitor. Vast and breathtakingly beautiful. On the way to Žjablak. Here take the ski lifts to 2500 meter high mountains. The views here are breathtaking and the temperatures in the summer are pleasantly refreshing.
If you continue upstream in Crnojevica you will come across this. Very beautiful and hardly any tourists.
Podgorica, river Moraca (the Zeta ends here). The capital offers fine shops, restaurants, terraces. Beautiful bars. Often much hipper than on the coast.
Idyllic fishing village Petrovac na moru. In the summer it can be crowded. From here you can enjoy a swim. Petrovac is one of the many coastal towns with interesting sights.
