- Because of its azure blue bay, Tossa de Mar is also called the ‘Blue Paradise’.
- Tossa de Mar features a statue of American actress Eva Gardner, who fell in love with the town while shooting the film ‘Pandora and the Flying Dutchman’ in 1951.
- The castle of Tossa de Mar once served as protection from North African pirates. In 1931, it was declared a National Historic Monument.
- A local speciality is ‘Simitomba’, a dish with smoked fish, potatoes, parsley and garlic, salt, saffron, olive oil and aioli.
- Tip for a city trip: if you catch the bus, it will only take you 75 minutes to get to the vibrant city of Barcelona.
