Holiday homes in Tavira
Tavira is located at the mouth of the Gilão River, and because of this location, it’s sometimes called the Venice of the
Algarve. Others prefer to call it the Queen of the Algarve. Perhaps both are true, but one thing is certain - this historic town is set in a beautiful location. The beach is nearby, and there are also numerous historical and
cultural sights in the area. At Micazu, you book a holiday home in Tavira directly with the owner, which is cheap, quick and convenient.
Discover the area from your holiday home in Tavira
If you’re looking for a pleasant atmosphere, then there’s no need to leave Tavira. Take your time and enjoy a drink on the many terraces. Do you like
shopping? There are plenty of nice shops and even a large shopping centre. Or you could visit the nearby
Moncarapacho or
Almancil. Tavira is also close to the border with
Spain, so you could even go on a daytrip to
Andalusia. Do you prefer the beach? Just six kilometres from Tavira, you’ll find Barril, one of the most beautiful beaches in Portugal. The extensive beach of Tavira itself can only be reached by boat. There’s a ferry during the high season that departs from the centre every thirty minutes. In the low season, the ferry sails every day, but only every hour until about 6 pm. It does not depart from the centre but from Quatro Aquas, about 2 kilometres from the centre. Quatro Aquas is clearly indicated on the signs with the words ‘Ilha de Tavira’. There are also four restaurants, a sailing school, a small marina and a large carpark at the ferry departure point.
