The retractable windshield ensures in the early and late season that you can sit on the terrace out of the wind and in the sun
If it is very hot in the summer, a breeze from the dike at the Grevelingen lake is nice and cool and the screen remains in place.
In front of the house is an attached storage room with a large fridge-freezer, washing machine, parasol, drying rack, etc.
The grape produces generously white grapes in late summer. In front of the grape rack is an extendable wind screen.
The living room with a practical sitting area with various pillows.
From the sitting area you have a good view of the large garden with apple tree.
The fireplace in the fireplace has been replaced by an environmentally conscious fireplace, so no more replacing blocks, sweeping out the ash drawer or waiting until the fire is really extinguished.
With 1 push of the button on the remote control you have fun and, if necessary, some extra heat. Cheers to a nice holiday!

The dining table has room for 6 chairs or, for example, 4 chairs and 2 children's chairs, the table can be placed in various ways depending on whether your group consists of 2,4 or 6 people.

The master bedroom is located on the ground floor next to the bathroom with bath and toilet. There is a spacious 180 x 200 comfortable box spring with toppers. A beautiful white linen cupboard with hanging and laying area. The blackout curtains together with the shutters ensure a quiet / dark sleeping environment.

The 2nd bedroom is located on the tuiant on the 1st floor, there are mosquito nets in the window so you can sleep with the windows open in summer
The bathroom on the first floor has also been renovated and has extra space due to the farmer's sliding door.

Nice things to know about Zonnemaire

  • Zonnemaire is named after Sonnemare or Sunnonmeri, the water between the islands of Bommenede and Schouwen. Sonne means both ‘water’ and ‘south’ or sunward, where the sun is at noon. ‘Mare’ means water.
  • Zonnemaire is called ‘Sunnemere’ in the local dialect.
  • There is a bust of Pieter Zeeman (1865-1943) in the village - a scientist from Zonnemaire who won the Nobel Prize for physics in 1902.
  • ‘Carbidschieten’ – setting off an improvised cannon made from a milk can - is a popular tradition among the youth of Zonnemaire on New Year's Eve.
