Castillo Fortaleza de Santa Pola
In the middle of Santa Pola is the Castillo Fortaleza de Santa Pola. This castle was built in 1554 as part of a plan to defend the coast of the Kingdom of Valencia. The castle was built in
renaissance military style and was home to 33 military personnel and their families.

The Castillo Fortaleza has been impenetrable for hundreds of years, but now you just walk in through the front door. Entrance is free and where the soldiers used to live, you will now find several museums.

Natural Park of Las Salinas
West of Santa Pola is the large natural park Parque Natural De Las Salinas. This area is largely under water and is the habitat of wild flamingos. If you're lucky you'll spot one
