The beautiful mountain village of Cómpeta can be found at an altitude of 625 meters against the vast mountainous nature park Sierras de Tejeda, Almijara y Alhama. Casa Almachar has a roof terrace with beautiful views over the countryside towards the sea and is centrally located in Cómpeta. Cozy terraces, shops, restaurants can be found within a 5-minute walk of the house, you can have breakfast, lunch, dinner or just enjoy a drink, tappa etc. Given the relatively warm winters, the terraces are open all year round. The hiking season is from the end of September to the beginning of May. The house has heating so that it remains pleasant on the cooler winter evenings. There is also air conditioning.

Cómpeta has many narrow and steep streets (often with stairs) in which you can see the Moorish influences, the street to the house is no exception. These authentic steep streets give the village a lot of charm and tranquility. For those who have such streets, for example for people who are less mobile (think of that bad knee, that hip operation etc.), I do not recommend staying in this area as well as in this house that is therefore part of this environment. Because of these types of streets, most of the village is car-free. From the car it is about a 2 to 4 minute walk to the house.
Cómpeta is a village with many amenities. There is a large heated indoor and outdoor swimming pool, you can go to yoga and pilate, tennis, sports and training, there are mountain bikes for rent, you can go to various riding schools through the nature reserve for horseback riding, there are supermarkets, banks, hairdressers, pedicures, a medical center, etc. From surrounding smaller villages one goes to Cómpeta for the cosiness and amenities that a somewhat larger village has to offer. Cómpeta has 320+ days of sunshine a year and pleasant temperatures. The winters are mild and in the summer it is not too hot due to its location at an altitude of 625 meters between the mountains and the sea.
