São Martinho do Porto, on the other side of the bay and a tourist attraction during the season. Rich in bars and restaurants and a pleasant beach with fine sand. Can be reached on foot in 25 minutes from Salir. A very pleasant walk along the bay or dike!

Another attraction a dozen kilometers away: the Obidos Lagoon with the seaside town of Foz do Arelho. Truly an impressive natural phenomenon! Wonderful walks and bike rides around the inlet of the lagoon and the lagoon itself. Bicycles for rent at a Dutch rental company in Foz.
The lagoon is ideal for (learning to) sail in the Escola da Velha.
And kite surfing is also recommended as a practice or for learning via the Escola da Velha.
Nazaré, another attraction in the immediate vicinity, you can also go for beach, promenade, bars, restaurants, excursions and much more.
Take the funicular train from Nazaré to Sitio and view the highest surfing waves in the world. Several surfing world records have already been broken here.
Peniche, an important fishing port and the westernmost point of the region. Also known for its numerous beaches and super tubo waves for surfers. Also visit the Fortaleza de Peniche.
The Berlenga Grande with the São João Baptista Fort. You can take a glass bottom boat trip around the island exploring bays and caves, walk through the nature reserve or visit the fortress. Best to book in advance, only a limited number of visitors are allowed per day.
You do not like a quiet sun beach? The rougher beaches and coves on the Atlantic Ocean are often present and can in many cases be reached on foot. For experienced hikers and always pay attention!
On the dike of Nazaré you can find several providers of various excursions: dolphin spotting, quad trips in the area over the cliffs, jet ski, etc. You can find the providers via kiosks on the promenade of Nazaré or the harbor.
A day trip to Lisbon? Perfectly possible by car or Rapida Verde express bus from the bus station in Caldas da Rainha to the Campo Grande bus stop in the outskirts of Lisbon. From there a short connecting metro ride to the Rossio metro station and you will be in the center of Lisbon in 1.5 hours.

The 12th century Cistercian Abbey, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The church contains the tombs of Dom Pedro and Inês, the Portuguese king who experienced an impossible love story with the beautiful Inês in the 14th century.
An intact and completely walled-in medieval town with a castle where knight's games are organized in the summer months.
Sintra with its Palacio da Pena, Palacio National da Sintra and Castelo dos Mouros is definitely worth a day trip.

Batalha, the most beautiful monastery in gothic manuel style of Portugal.
There are several golf courses at short distance from the villa. At Obidos, Praia d'El Rey and Bom Sucesso you will find 18 hole courses.
Surfing, kite surfing, sailing, jet ski, kayaking, board surfing, ... numerous water sports options on the lagoon of Obidos, the bay of São Martinho do Porto and Nazaré.
Quiet cruising around the Obidos lagoon, mountain biking on the various trails in the region, cycling tourism, something for everyone for the active cyclist. Bicycles for rent in Foz do Arelho.

Garden and art lover? Then Buddha Garden Eden in Bombarral, which brings a quirky fusion of Eastern and contemporary art into an exceptionally beautiful garden, is your thing.
For wine lovers there are possibilities for wine tourism. The region belongs to the DOP Lisboa. There is a mapped out wine route in the three sub-regions: Obidos, Alenquer and Torres Vedras. In every region there is the possibility to visit and taste at various quintas.
The region is also very popular with motorcyclists for its scenic clifftop rides with stunning views of coastline and ocean, as well as the round trips on the winding roads of the green, hilly and diverse inland countryside.
Enough of the beach and sunbathing, a day less weather? In Caldas da Rainha there is possibility for bowling and karting, in addition to the many hiking trails in the vicinity of the villa.
You will not starve on the Silver Coast. You can really enjoy good food everywhere at affordable prices. Enjoy pleasant and atmospheric dining in Obidos.
