The Barn

Bem vindo in our charming Barn in the lovely village of Foz do Arelho on the famous Lagoon of Obidos.
A restored barn where the grapes were pressed long ago.
The original wall in the high ceiling perfectly reflects its authenticity.
Finished with high-quality materials.
The Barn is equipped with every possible comfort; 3 spacious bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, one ensuite.
Beautiful spacious open kitchen, equipped with every comfort with a view of the private swimming pool that can be heated.
Salon with smart TV and WIFI.
On the open mezanine there is a desk with an extra seating area.
In the fully walled garden you have a covered BBQ patio with dining table and an extra outdoor table.
Sun beds, chairs, parasol and don't forget the hammock on the olive tree to complete the holiday feeling.
We have provided a beach towel and bath towel for everyone and a large beach bag so you don't have to bring these with you.
Washing machine, drying parasol and iron available, as well as a storage space for kite gear or surfing equipment, for example.

A ping pong table has also just been purchased and there are beachball palettes.
When renting for 2 weeks, an intermediate cleaning with replacement of all linen.
For the colder periods there is a wood stove and underfloor heating upstairs and downstairs.
For warmer days, air conditioning is provided in all bedrooms.
Baby cot available on request.
Keys and explanations will be given upon arrival.
The long driveway gives you the opportunity to park at least 2 cars.
The Barn is located in the middle of the village, close to restaurants, shops, butcher, bakery, etc.


Sailing school, surfing school, Yoga on the beach, boat tour on the lagoon, golfing, walking, cycling, mountain biking, horse riding, ceramics workshop, you name it, all nearby.
A nice cocktail on the beach at sunset?

Everything is possible, you will never be bored here.

Foz do Arelho is located between Peniche and Nazaré, near the medieval Obidos and Caldas da Rainha.
All possible supermarkets within a 10-minute drive.
Every morning there is the fruit and fish market in Caldas da Rainha.
If you want a Fruits de Mer, I can recommend the Take out from Aki Del Mar, which is located between Foz do Arelho and Caldas and can be recognized by the lighthouse with blue and white.
Or the numerous restaurants on the beach.
You can find everything here to enjoy a relaxing holiday.

❖ Caldas Da Rainha: park – daily fruit market – ceramics museum
❖ Baleal: wave surfing paradise for youth, beach restaurant Xakra Peniche (their dessert is delicious)
❖ Alcobaça: Monasterio and right opposite Pastelaria Alcôa for delicious pastries!
❖ Bombarral: professional karting circuit
❖ Bacalhõa: Buddha Eden: impressive sculpture park with wine shop
❖ Nazaré: surfing paradise for the advanced surfer; this is where they hold world championships.
❖ Peniche harbor and the Fort
❖ Lisbon (55 min)
❖ Berlengas Islands is a nature reserve where you can snorkel, walk and visit an old fortress
You can reach this via a ferry or speedboat from the port of Peniche.

small footnote

This village is very popular with Belgians and Dutch people and there are plenty of investments.
They are building on the street side, which can cause very limited noise pollution during the day.
Construction started in March 2023 and will hopefully be completed by summer 2024.
The Barn is diagonally behind it.
