Quinta Charlotte is an authentic, completely renovated farm dating from 1903. In the woods, 500 meters from the Atlantic Ocean, this holiday home is located between two beautiful seaside resorts, the fashionable Foz do Arelho and the popular Sao Martinho do Porto.

The farm has every comfort: 4 renovated bedrooms (9 adult guests + 1 baby bed), 3 well-kept bathrooms, 3 toilets, a spacious living room, a fully equipped kitchen with gas stove, refrigerator, microwave oven, dishwasher and high chair. A washing machine, dryer, barbecue, ironing equipment, satellite TV, WiFi (5G included in the price), ... There is a large covered sun terrace overlooking the beautiful swimming pool of 5 by 10 meters and the beautiful garden with a rich fauna and flora.

The house is located a stone's throw from the ocean, 4 kilometers from the seaside resort of São Martinho do Porto and 5 kilometers from the beautiful Foz do Arelho. World city Lisbon is less than an hour's drive away at 90 kilometers. Even closer is the medieval, completely walled Obidos (15 km). From the nearby port city of Peniche (35 km) you sail to the uninhabited Berlenga Islands, an excellent place for diving and snorkeling. You can of course also explore the Unesco World Heritage Site in Batalha, Alcobaça and Tomar.

To ensure that your stay runs smoothly, we ensure that you are welcomed by us upon arrival. We show the house, hand over the keys and are available by phone throughout your stay. We are also present at your departure to receive the key again.

Explanation of the prices & cancellation policy

In the high season we always rent from Saturday to Saturday, but arriving a day later, or leaving a day earlier is no problem at all.

'Outside the high season, checking in and out is done in consultation. A deposit is charged and cleaning is mandatory by the cleaning team. When booking, we ask for a deposit.

Internet (5G fibernet) is free. All linen is included. The beds are made on arrival. There are also plenty of towels: 1 beach towel, 1 large bath towel, 1 small bath towel (per person, per week). Kitchen towels and bath mats are ready.

To ensure that your stay goes smoothly, we will make sure that you are welcomed by us upon arrival. We show the house, hand over the keys and can be reached by phone during your entire stay. We will also be present at your departure to receive the key again.

Areia Branca, Foz do Arelho, Peniche, Sao Martinho do Porto, Nazaré, Sitio, ... Lovers of water sports can enjoy themselves here: windsurfing, surfing, kitesurfing, flyboarding, SUP, body boarding, sailing, kayaking, diving, snorkeling, swimming, ... everything is possible. Every year in Peniche one of the most important wave surfing world cups is held. Dolphin spotting is also a direct hit of an excursion! And those who prefer to do nothing, can indulge in the wellness, or sunbathe on one of the many beautiful sandy beaches.

Besides the beautiful coast there is much more to experience for the nature lover. In Peniche take the boat to the Berlengas, an uninhabited archipelago full of natural beauty. Or go on a mountain bike, through forests, along rivers and streams, over cliffs, along the ocean. Bird spotters can also indulge themselves here. Parque Natural das Serras de Aire e Candeeiros with its many caves, dinosaur tracks and numerous hiking and biking trails are worthwhile.

Culture lovers are also in the right place in Portugal. Quinta Charlotte is less than an hour's drive away from the Lisbon metropolis. Spending one or more days in the capital of Fado is an option.
Shopping is possible in the capital, but also in the charming Caldas da Rainha, with its beautiful ceramics shops and various markets.
The beautiful city of Sintra, the wonderful Mafra - where there's a protection program for the Iberian wolf, Alcobaça with its beautiful monastery, Batalha, Coimbra, Tomar, Fatima, or the medieval, walled Obidos - are also close by: they all have in common that they are living museums and UNESCO world heritage of the highest level. Not to mention the countless picturesque villages ...

Foodies feel at home here, with reason! It can't get more authentic than Portuguese cuisine. Each region has its own specialties, which vary with the season. Fresh fish, shellfish, pure meat, savory desserts, ... In short, a simple and honest kitchen.

Portugal is not only known worldwide as a hotspot for water sports (see under the header 'Sun, sea and beach'), the country also has a rich football tradition and counts many beautiful golf courses.
Do you prefer riding? One of the most beautiful and modern manèges in Europe is nearby.
Are the children coming along? Why not go bowling, or go karting, or pay a visit to one of the different water parks: all is possible.
Exploring the region by bike or with a scooter is also an option.

The favorable location is ideal for grapevines, which is reflected in a substantial number of quintas that still grow wine according to ancient traditions. A good part of these wine farms is connected by the Western Wine Route, which winds through our region. Strongly recommended!
