Villa

2 HOUSES, SECURED, HEATED POOL, GARDEN 5000 M, incl. BED - BATH- LINEN, BEDS MADE. WiFi.

The ideal holiday home for 2 families or a large family, who like to be together and yet  also want to be on their own. But also a couple feels  completely at home here.
It includes  2 houses, a traditional house and a ''dormitory'' (annex), a  secure and heated swimming pool (April-Nov.) with lighting, beautiful garden of 5000 m2 with 3 dining tables, many seating areas and a ''playground''. It can accommodate 9 people.
The unique location on a private hill on the edge of the picturesque wine village of Prades offers you a magnificent  view, privacy, tranquility, space,  clean air and the luxury  of being able  to buy fresh bread and croissants within walking distance, 4 minutes, in the morning.
Because the swimming pool is heated to  November in April, it is also an ideal holiday home during the May and autumn holidays.

The accommodation includes the main house and the annex (dormitory), 12 meters apart. Both have Wi-Fi.
It is always rented in its entirety.

THE MAIN HOUSE,  in the country style of the region,  has  an L-shaped living-dining room, open kitchen, bathroom, 3 bedrooms, toilet, hall and two large terraces of 40 m² each facing South-East and North-West.
On each terrace you have access to a 12 p. table. In the garden is a third large table.
From the house and from the terraces and the garden you have a magnificent view of Prades, valleys and mountains, skies, the rising and setting sun and an endless starry sky at night.

 THE ANNEX
has  a hall that gives access to 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and a toilet. In the hall is a ''minibar'' with refrigerator and the attributes to prepare tea, coffee and other drinks.
There is a large covered terrace in front of the house with seating areas and steps leading down to the pool area.
From the bedrooms and from the terrace you have a beautiful view of hills with forests and vineyards and of the mountains beyond, the foothills of the Cévennes, with the Caroux as an eye-catcher.

 THE GARDEN.
Because we Dutch mainly live outdoors from April to November in this wonderful Mediterranean climate, I pay a lot of attention to  the outdoors.                 In the 5000m² garden grow tall cypresses, eucalyptus, mimosa, chênes vertes, arbousier (strawberry tree), mulberry tree, olive, fig, pomegranate, Néflier duJapon, bay leaf,  palm, cactus and of course rosemary, thyme, lavender and oleanders. There are many exuberantly blooming roses.
It is wonderful to swim in the scent of the roses that line the pool.
If you are lucky, you can notice wild asparagus, cherries, loquats, plums, almonds, figs, persimmons and strawberries at the arbousier. There is an automatic watering, because it rains little / not much here in summer.
In the garden and on the terraces there are many seating areas and 4 large tables in the sun and in the shade of a covered terrace, parasol or mulberry tree.
There is plenty of room to isolate oneself undisturbed  to  take a nap, read a book.
Families of 3 generations often come here, whose grandparents want to have some peace and quiet.

SHOPS.
Supermarkets, butchers, doctors, pharmacies, restaurants, markets etc. can be found in St.Chinian (4km) and Cessenon (4km). In the village there is a shop where you can order bread,

At your disposal are:
2 sets of bed linen per bed, bath towels and bath towels, kitchen linen, TV with Flemish channels, WiFi in both houses, cot, k-chair, camping bed, bouncer, baby bath, 2 expresso-, 1senseo-1 walk-through - coffee maker, 3 hairdryers, scales.                                                                                                                           On arrival, beds  made and a lovely heated swimming pool await you.

Because pictures say more than 1000 words and the accommodation is comprehensive, I have placed quite a few photos. Tenants noted that they do not do justice to reality.

In a unique location, I had a traditional house built for the holidays with my family. We swam in the river Orb, lakes and the Mediterranean Sea.
Later, a ''sleeping house'' and a luxurious swimming pool were added to a beautiful design by a French architect.
I also rent it out and with great pleasure because of the enthusiastic reactions of the tenants and the pleasant contacts with them. They call Les Trois Cyprès ''a paradise on earth'', where they ''live like God in France.''

Location & area recommendations

Additional information

Between mountains and sea lies this beautiful, authentic region in the Languedoc, the largest wine region in Europe. Those who love nature, culture, history, sport, good food and drink, can indulge themselves here. I will make a small selection, in ''Les Trois Cyprès'' there is much more information in the form of books and leaflets about what the area has to offer.
Valras Plage +/- 30 km.
The Mediterranean Sea (+/- 30 km.) provides a mild Mediterranean climate. There are wide sandy beaches.
The grape harvest starts here at the end of August / beginning of September. Fun to be with. Many winegrowers bring their grapes to the Cave cooperative, nice to see that for example in Cessenon, but there are also winegrowers with their own cave such as Jougla in Prades.
This cave is located +/- 200 m. from ''Les Trois Cyprès'' on the road through the village on the right. Father and daughter (on the photo) run the centuries-old family business with mother and son. It is tradition that each successor's first name must begin with an A. Wine is a passion for them.
Taste and then buy in the '' chapel '' of Mme Jougla sr. Payment can only be made in cash. Belgian tenants were very surprised that they could take wine without paying because they had no cash with them, only a card. "That's not possible with us in Belgium." It creates the very friendly, helpful nature of the people of Prades.
Stroll through the narrow streets in the villages.
In St.Chinian there is a lively market on Sunday morning.
On Sunday morning there is a lively market in St.Chinian. Handy if you arrived on Saturday. There are many regional products, honey, jams, herbs, vegetables, fruit, eggs, grilled chicken from the farm, cheeses, but also butchers and bakers. On the corner is a Spar where you can also stock up. At the bureau de tabac you can buy Dutch newspapers. The Café du Balcon with terrace on the market is happy to serve you a drink. You can also eat what you bought elsewhere. This is just. Note At the Spar they have fresh fish on Friday morning.
In Cessenon there are 2 bakeries in the center opposite each other on the square at Café Helder, where you have to pay 1.10 for a glass of wine. You can also eat here with young children on the terrace or inside. Take away pizzas is also possible.
There is a good restaurant on the beach.
Nearby Roquebrun is beautiful.
Swimming and playing in and along the Orb.
You can also have a great barbecue here.
Bridge to Roquebrun.
It is a beautiful region for cyclists and mountain bikers. The Tour de France (photo) comes by every now and then.
This region is a paradise for cyclists and mountain bikers. Many voies vertes have been made over old railways, through railway tunnels. Also near Prades. You can also walk there to eg Cessenon.
This is also possible here.
There is also calm running water.
Kayaking on the River Orb nearby.
If you don't come along, you can see the kayakers approaching on the bridge of Cessenon.
Kayaking on the River Orb.
The only Romanesque monastery in the Languedoc. Past Cessenon (from Prades) turn right, see map above. The few winegrowers from the hamlet kept their tools in this monastery until it was excavated by Parisian students and later "possessed" by l'Association des Amis de Foncaude and can be visited for a fee. This was what a resident of the hamlet told me with tears in his eyes.
A road to Santiago de Compostela runs along Abbaye de Foncaude (hot water spring.)
You can also enjoy this beautiful Parc on horseback.
A walk through these beautiful gorges is highly recommended!
The Caroux is part of the Massif Espinouse - Caroux which belongs to the Massif Central.
The Caroux, seen from ''Les Trois Cypres'', is the highest point, 1091 m, of the Massif Caroux in the Parc Naturel Du Haut Languedoc. It is part of the Massif Central. A wonderful walk / bike ride takes you there. The first part can be covered by car. You can climb the mountain on 2 sides, a difficult and an easy side. There is a special flora and fauna.
Game on the Caroux.
You can make a nice trip if you drive via St. Chinian, St. Pons to this reservoir near Salvetat sur Agout and back home via Fraise sur Agout, Olargues, Tarassac, Vieussan, Roquebrun and Cessenon. You drive through a varied landscape with sights, picturesque villages with cozy restaurants and terraces. In Olargues is the Pont de Diable (Devil's Bridge). The tour is even more beautiful (views) if you cross the bridge over the Orb after Vieussan, towards Boisseson, Mézeilles, Escagnes, Berlou, Prades.
A bridge from the year 1060. The legend of this bridge can be found in the information folder in Les Trois Cyprès.
Béziers is a pleasant city for young and old. It has a lot to offer. You can shop, walk past historic buildings, visit museums, churches and of course the cathedral St.Nazaire. The Allees Paul Riquet are very cozy with many terraces. From there you can visit the small streets with nice boutiques. On Friday morning there is the flower market.
Near the cathedral are cozy streets with terraces.
De Allees Paul Riquet.
La fontaine musicale is located near the Alléés Paul Riquet in Béziers.
In August there are bullfights in Béziers for those who love it.
9 locks in a row. Very special. Over a distance of 300 m, a difference in height of 21.5 m is bridged in the Canal du Midi near Béziers. A visit is interesting for young and old.
Narbonnen is a pleasant city, which also has a lot to offer in terms of history, culture and art. There are often exhibitions. In the center you will find another piece via domitia. Free concerts are given in the cathedral. On the ''square'' around the cathedral I discovered a text by a Frisian (Ned.) on a floor stone. If you want to take a trip to Barcelona by train, it is better to get on in Narbonne than in Béziers because of parking.
Beautiful monastery near Narbonne.
The best preserved monastery in France. Concerts are held in summer .
This monastery is well worth a visit.
This famously restored medieval fortified town is visited by tourists from all over the world. Fun for young and old. Children like to write a paper about it for school.
Medieval fortress city
Minerve has a very special location. You can only reach it on foot over the bridge. The natural tunnels are also very interesting for children. If you drive inland to Carcassonne you can also visit Minerve.
Historic location. Archaeological site on a hill with expansive panoramic views. 6th century BC. - 1st century AD. inhabited. There is also an impressive museum. Below the Lac de Montady, a dried out lake.
You can cycle along it, but also sail on it. Then visit the Auberge de la Croisade where you can enjoy a delicious meal.
There are several riding stables in the area where you can rent a horse or pony.
The cathedral St.Juste et St.Pasteur has a great art treasure.
Interior of the Cathedral St.Juste et St. Pasteur.
If you are lucky you can experience a great procession.
Albi, city of the Albigenses (Cathars) has a special Cathedral. Next to it is the museum of Toulouse Lautrec.
Interior of the cathedral.
Palace of the Kings of Majorca.
