La Bicyclette Bleue

Welcome and Bienvenue!

We are Eduard and Yvonne, owners of La Bicyclette Bleue, or the blue bicycle, an attractively renovated farmhouse from 1890, 1 hectare, on the edge of Foret de Campuzan. Tranquility, privacy, private pool, large area for football or hockey, swing, trampoline, children's toys, reading books, games, bicycles, bbq etc ...... walking area around the Lac Puyadarieux lake. Especially those who seek peace and quiet are the ideal place.
Ideal area for bikers, hikers, fisherman, bird watchers, horse riding, golf in Lannemezan or just relax with a book by the pool .. or in the shade of the trees.
Good base to discover the Pyrenees on the French side or the Spanish side.

We have heard from our guests that we have absolutely succeeded in renovating the house in such a way that, while retaining the rustic beams and canopy, an attractive house has been created with its nice facets in the garden such as a pond, walls, etc. .

You will find privacy and peace with us, passing cars on the ridge is minimal, 5 in a day is a lot. The calm invites you to relax in the garden, to sleep in the shade, to stroll around the grounds and to admire the flowers or to enjoy the fruit or to swim. In addition, the location of the house invites you to take lovely walks to or around the lake.A short distance there are a variety of possibilities to visit or do business.

Can we take you on a tour through our house?
We have tried to preserve as many authentic parts of the house as possible. You will find the rustic old beams in every room.
When you are in front of the buildings you will see the country house on the left, on the 1st floor a large sleeping area with 2 beds and a sitting area, toilet and sink, underneath the shed.

On the right side of the house, between both buildings, a roof which is fully tiled and where there is a permanent table with rattan chairs for 6 people. It is wonderful to stay there, have breakfast, lunch or dinner. But also to play games or just relax in the late hours.

Around the house lighting has been installed which automatically lights up at dusk, lighting has also been placed under the roof (you can also dim it in the evening ...).
The shed contains not only all kinds of (garden) tools but also garden furniture. You will find 2x a parasol, a wooden table with 2 benches, a hexagonal plastic table with 6 hartman chairs, a small round table with 4 bucket seats, 2 sun loungers, 4 chairs for the pool and hammocks. Cushions are available for all chairs, they are neatly packaged in plastic covers. Cushions are also available for the rattan chairs.

If you enter the house from this point, you will immediately enter the living room. There is a wood stove, 4 relax chairs (you can also use the rattan chairs from outside), a coffee table, a dining area for 4 to 6 people, a writing cabinet, two cabinets and a small cave in the wall. The TV is in the closet, but there is no TV connection, but the possibility to watch DVDs, there are more than enough DVDs for both large and small in the closet.

If you are standing in the middle of the house, look down to the top of the house with its antique French hanging lamp.

Turn left and you will come to La Chambre Rose, a double bedroom.

If you go up the stairs in the living room, you will come to the loft where there is a small library (6 meters of books) with a relaxing chair, a wonderful place to retreat in the evening. Here is also a sofa / sofa bed for 2 people.

Also on this floor is 'La Chambre Lavandle', a spacious double bedroom where there is room to place the cot (you can of course also place this in the downstairs room).

To the left of the stairs (downstairs) is the bathroom with 2 sinks, 2 showers, 1 toilet. A spacious and fresh white-blue bathroom. The washing machine is in a separate room, as well as the ironing board and iron.

To the right of the stairs you enter a small hall from where 2 patio doors lead you out into the garden.

From the hall you walk into the kitchen on the left, equipped with all conveniences such as a dishwasher, microwave, Senseo, coffee machine, refrigerator and a small freezer, sandwich maker, mixer etc. etc.

Back in the hall you reach the pond through the patio doors where you can have a delicious breakfast in the morning enjoying the fish, they are patiently waiting for a piece of bread.

If you have any questions, you can always email us. We check our mailbox almost every day.

We wish you a lot of viewing and reading pleasure and hope to welcome you in our house.
Kind regards Ed and Yvonne

Comme un poubelle ... how many times did I call it .... and wondered when the struggle to get the garden in order would come to an end. Not only did the residents leave everything behind in the house, no , these residents had left much more in the garden. Comme un poubelle ... it looked like a garbage dump ....... old beds, pans, cutlery, clothing, roof tiles, empty packaging, shoes .... we came across everything. And then you also want a pond, digging a hole is no problem but driving away all that loam ... well that was another story. We were able to fill the pond with fish that we granted "political asylum" as they almost perished in an empty pond near an abandoned house on the ridge. But all the work was ultimately rewarded, a beautiful garden has been created with its gravel paths, its pond, its bridge, the many walls etc. Every time I (Yvon) spend hours in the garden pruning, counting the number of roses this year, enjoying the fruit and enjoying so much beauty. Enjoy a half-hectare garden with gravel, grass and various trees and shrubs. The other half of the hectare is "donated" to nature. The grass is mowed regularly, perhaps it will occur when you get there. The ladies will try to bother you as little as possible. They will certainly appreciate a glass of wine or something fresh.
Dear Ed and Yvonne We have been able to enjoy your vacation paradise for a week. The tranquility IS huge here. This is the 11th holiday home that we have already visited and it is certainly 1 to pass on the address to friends. Today (our last day) it is now a bit cooler after a huge heat in the last week, the pool brought a cooling. Who will we come back again, An and Ludwig Dear Eduard and Yvonne, We have greatly enjoyed your house, the garden and the swimming pool. Really a nice place to be. And the environment towards the Pyrenees is really beautiful. A very nice place! The Children wrote the following: the doeisen (showers) were lovely and the beds were nice, Thanks Nienke Pim Ing Max and Bruno Dear Ed and Yvonne What have you made a beautiful house! Really super nice. Even more beautiful than in the photos. Unfortunately we only had 2 real swimming days, but the pool was lovely. Nice contact with neighbor Serge. We had a flat tire en route and exchanged it with the spare tire. It turned out: Serge had a completely furnished workshop (in his shed) and made our band. Super sweet! Afterwards he drank another beer with us, was very nice. Also neighbor Lelsey has shown us around your house and showed us a nice route to Spain. Today our last day here. Enjoy the lovely swimming pool. The outside stay for grandpa liked it. We have a nice walk in the area. Thanks for everything, greetings Bart, Davina, Koen, Evelien and Albert

Alles is zeer compleet.

Dear Ed and Yvonne
We stayed in this beautiful house with garden and swimming pool from 21 May to 10 June. The bee was exquisite with sunny days from 30 to 35 degrees, alternating with cloudy days and rain. Lovely nights sleep outside and eaten with candlelight and a wood fire. Lovely days at the pool with sun, reading and often in the coolness of the shadow. There was usually a nice cooling wind. Every day to the Coco, fresh bread and croissants. The garden delicious with so many places to sit. The surroundings are beautiful, calm, relaxed. Strolled by the lake and also several restaurants visited mainly Ferme Auberges. Good cuisine with local produce. On cloudy days Pau visited with, among other things, the Cabinets of Henri IV and Pic de Midi. That was not nice because the col was in a thick cloud layer and the road view was very bad. So no cable car. Cirque de Gavarnie, a beautiful natural park in the Pyrenees, is recommended. Rough rocks, fast flowing streams and many high waterfalls. Advice; Keep the doors of the house well closed. We visited an unknown beast who left his tracks in the bedroom. Together with neighbor Lelsey on research, the mystery has been solved. In the morning we saw "him" in the living room next to the wall. A big thick path. With the coal kit the path, after some pressing, was brought out and deposited at the pond. Noticed with Lesley and the ladies of eht lawnmowers. The lady of the Coco. All kind people. We are also invited to the big party in Campuzan on June 10th, but they are already on their way home. We had a very laid back holiday in a "paradise" place

July 2017, Rob and Merel
Dear Ed and Yvonne, Like last year, I enjoyed again very much. When we arrived here, it felt like I had been there 3 weeks ago. There's basically nothing changed (and that's an advantage). If it could, I stayed longer, but unfortunately. Since I know that many of my beautiful drawing of last year have been enjoyed, I will re-add this book with my art. Keep it well, in case I get famous later. As it was a cloudy day, Rob and Merel decided to watch the Tour de France. After all, it was near and why not. We came to an unsuspecting place where the Tour de France came along. In addition to a couple of elderly people, nothing was mentioned which featured a tour of the Tour de France. Rob asks for his best French what time they came here. "Mr. who have been for a long time". We decided by driving to the finish. After a few detours we came to a split. We had to follow the left to follow the only road to the finish. But police agents blocked the road. We were late and could go back to the Blue Bike. It gave nothing. In reality, we hate cycling and the Tour and especially Mart Smeets. End of story. PS, we finally made a nice ride, Groet Merel

Dear Ed and Yvonne
Our 2 th year here and it was like coming home. We arrived one day early, but thanks to flexible Ed in the house, thank you very much. Unfortunately, we had 7 days of cloudy weather from the 7 days. A large dense gray slice hung all week over France. Despite this, it was a nice week and we hope to return, thanks for everything Rob August 2017, Esther, Hans, Merlin and JadeBeste Ed and YvonneThe last 2 weeks have flown over and in spite of the less recent weather of the last week we have great. What a beautiful house and so quietly located. Have been to several times eating out and sure Le Tiramisu is superb. Also Arranpark just across the border is definitely a must. Also, we will miss our girlfriend the neighbors Dachshund, what a sweet beggar. We go home again and thank you for this souvenir.

August 2017, Isis, Kiki, Floor, Hubert, Kris and Ton
Living with little ones and children in your lush paradise. Everything is right, atmosphere, beautiful garden, romantic swimming pool. The first week, Iris and Kiki, Floor and Hubert celebrated a great holiday week. Swimming, eating out and watching the area. Popping up from the bottom of the pool was still a favorite. Spend the weekend together, lovely together. Have a nice meal and drink with his sisters. Such a pampering goes without saying. The second week together enjoy the peace, garden and cooling swimming. Delightful trips made to Lourdes and Lac d'Aubert. The dining out of restaurants was a bit puzzling, eventually eaten at Rekais du Castena in Nestien and at Thierry Dubassy. The first one is recommended. Re-wrapped today and made everything neat. Tomorrow morning begin the return trip. We all six thank you for this wonderful time and delightful place.
The most delicious regional dishes, particularly aperitif with an appetizer. Enough auberges close enough to enjoy a good meal, even on the road to mushrooms, that is also possible, as most people in the countryside do. Our house is on the edge of Foret de Campuzan. Our neighbor Serge regularly goes looking for delicious mushrooms. Take a plastic bag with you into the forest, especially after some rain and / or damp weather. Always ask neighbor Serge if you have found edible mushrooms. There is a brush available to wipe the mushrooms clean. Fresh garlic, a little oil, mushrooms, a piece of bread ... wine with it .... delicious. . There are 4 restaurants 5 minutes away which are really worth it. Please state that you are staying in "la bicyclette bleue" with all reservations! If you drive by car around the lake, Lac de Pudarrieux, you can enjoy delicious culinary food at an affordable price at Ferme Auberge de Pyadarieux. A great indoor and outdoor setting where you can enjoy delicious regional dishes with a delicious wine, 3-course menu. Book outside or inside in a romantic ambiance, but reservation is required. In Castelau Magnoac is another Ferme Auberge "le nouste Temps", highly recommended, 3 course menu 20 euros incl amuse, aperitif and wine including the music of the gramophone in the background. Ask for the homemade pickled pate and boudin from the family, for 3 euros you can buy delicious pate and boudin. Memory 65 is also recommended and often populated by the English. Those who love hamburgers can eat a hambuger from XS to XXL for a very small price, including pizas and, of course, duck with fries. Easier food at the Pizaria in Betpouy, in addition to pizas you can also eat a la carte or a 3-course menu of around 12 euros. Not comparable to the firm auberges, but not a bad restaurant in itself. There are also several places to eat in Lannemezan where you can eat in different price ranges. Buy the delicious Pyrenean cheese at the Wednesday morning market in Lannemezan, especially at the cheese farmer next to the covered hall. Cow, sheep, goat or mixed, every cheese has a name and story. Also wine from the barrel, bring a water bottle. Don't forget to take a look in the "hall", a pleasure to shuffle past the little farmers and buy their products. Or go to the lovely market in Castelnau Magnoac on Saturday morning, have a nice lunch there or drink coffee or tea at the Memory 65 Also several small farmers with local products on this market.
You will find the beds made upon arrival. If you wish to change the beds in the meantime, a washing machine is available. In the bathroom and kitchen are enough bath / towels, kitchen linen is in the bathroom. There are more than enough tablecloths in the living room cupboard to use both inside and outside. There is a chest on the void, where the linen sets for the sofa bed are located on this floor. In the country house there is also enough linen for both beds, these beds are made. Before you leave the house you must pick up the beds and leave the used linen sets folded at the foot end. For used bed you can leave 1 used set behind, per person you can leave 1 towel dirty and for the kitchen 1 dirty kitchen and tea towel applies , 2 dishcloths.
There is a type of fruit for every period, you are free to taste the fruit present. You will find the following fruit and nut types: cherry, apple, plum, peach, currant, olive, fig, hazelnut, walnut, grape, blackberry. Enjoy the fresh, freshly sprayed fruit! We ask you not to eat the trees "bare" and to leave fruit for the next guests or for ourselves. Save empty jars with lid and make some fruit yourself to take home!
Just an impression of our picked fruit. 2019 was a surprising year, the peach tree gave a large amount of peaches for the first time. So make jam and of course eat as you stand under the tree. Again a good amount of apples to make apple sauce and delicious apple pies. This year a whole bowl full of hazelnuts, quite a job that cracked to be able to fill exactly 1 large preserving jar, delicious for the winter for sweets or to use in muffins. The yellow-red-blue plum tree also produced nice plums. And oh, how wonderful it is to open the double doors by the kitchen to eat some grapes, watching the first dawn ... the vague fog over the land, listening to the birds in the endless silence, the breathing fresh scents and then .... a deep sigh .... the feeling of enormous gratitude ... why we enjoy it. The blue and green grapes are very tasteful every year. We now pick walnuts every year, and more each year. Let it dry in the sun, stored in the shed to eat in the winter months with some Pyrenean cheese with a delicious glass of wine. Every year it is a surprise again, which tree gives the most fruit ... the cherry trees, plums, apples ..... Well, we remain dependent on the weather, a strong hail during the blossom period causes a lot of damage and so fewer apples / plums / cherries. The figs are always fully present. Delicious to eat so fresh, tasty as compote, by the yogurt or in the evening with a nice piece of cheese. If no one is in the house, our neighbors will pick and eat the figs, no problem.
Almost every year the Tour de France passes by at a very short distance. The Tour de France will serve a number of journeys in the Pyrenees in 2020. Saturday July 4 and Sunday July 5. Saturday's ride goes from Cazeres sur Garonne to Loudenvielle, just below Lannemezan. For those who would like to be there at once an excellent opportunity In 2018, Trie sur Baise was the starting place 3 km from our house, a fantastic spectacle. In 2008 and 2015 the Tour was started in Lannemezan, 18 km from us. In 2008 we watched the start in Lannemezan. How special to be so close, how we enjoyed the atmosphere, the show, all the beautifully decorated cars of the caravan. All the buses gathered right in front of our eyes, cyclists had the time to put a signature or to take a picture. The whole entourage around the start is really a pleasant show game. Before the start there is entertainment and spectacle. The evening before the start, there was a night market in Lannemezan where, again, everything was for sale regarding the Tour de France. Mussels is a tradition to eat during the evening before the start in Lannemezan, so there were many long tables where visitors visibly enjoyed the meal. Interspersed with performances by Spanish dancers, among other things, made the evening complete. Seeing the Tour up close is almost a must, we would say.
Like the wild boars, the deer use a part of our site.

Half a hectare is not used by us and is a wonderful place for the animals.

From the forest, the deer often come to cross the road and sometimes walk through the garden to half a hectare which we do not use. Whether they walk from left to right across the farmer's land, for early birds ... take a seat, from the pool terrace, a glorious morning glow with the transient deer in the background (usually between 7 and 745 hours).

There are also wild boar in the woods. In 12 years, we have only seen wild boar at 1 times during the day. The wild boar appears mainly from the forest at night. Our site is protected from entering the wild boar. In the evening you must close both entrances. One half hectare, so the maintained garden, is protected with fence wire. Wild boars are only dangerous if they have a boy, they will always defend them.

In the spring and autumn, the crane birds float in very large groups, the sound is great, a pleasure to listen and watch. Hundreds of cranes are gathering at the lake, and there are separate bird spots.

There is no street lighting on the comb, but as mentioned, it will automatically burn at dusk. There are 4 light points around the house.
Our house is on top of the ridge. There is a road down to the lake, Lac Puydarrieux. This is a protected bird and a favorite sport and fishing location.

Puydarrieux Lac is located in the Foret Campuzan and there are several marked hiking tours around the lake.

For bird lovers this is a great area where you can enjoy the tranquility of endless.

The cranes attract every year to Lac Puydarrieux. Hence they regularly fly to other lakes in the area. The sound of the birds from afar to hear you without the birds have been observed. There is a mention of observing an osprey observed, this came daily to pick up his food and then return to its nest.

It is also a beautiful area where you can fish including carp. It is allowed to water on a boat to go fishing at night is related to the protection of the area is not permitted.

In Lannemezan you can pick up a license for a few days fishing or go fishing in mountain lakes.
Campuzan located a short distance from the mountains where a diversity of activities in both summer and winter could be undertaken. In our house there is a very comprehensive folder with leaflets, maps enz.In the pretty villages around us, there are weekly small markets, a very large market in Lannemezan and small local markets in Castelnau Magnoac and Trie sur Baise. Would you visit a pool with some entertainment for the children, we recommend aanhet pool in Boulogne sur Gesse Boulogne sur Gesse, about 15 minutes, you will see a transient foto.Via the tourist bureaus in Lannemezan and Trie sur baise is all about books. Lovely to sit by the pool ...... there are chairs enough!
Or find a place in the shade of the trees .....

Please note: Diving in the swimming pool, eating and drinking on the terrace (due to glass breakage etc.) is NOT permitted.
The swimming pool is fully automatic.

There is a robot (our children have baptized Robin Robin), which you will need to place yourself in the pool to remove small dirt. We request that you clean the catchment net after each cleaning of Robin under the water tap.
The swimming pool meets French safety requirements and must be sealed with a bache a barre.

You are responsible and responsible for the use of this security system.

Despite this beautiful picture, it is absolutely not advisable to swim in the evening with the lighting. The beast comes from everywhere to be present at this "light" festival. Reason we have not replaced the lamp anymore.

Whatever your reason is, the walk to the Spanish shrine is an experience in itself. The mythical pilgrimage here every year attracts thousands of people. And that is certainly due to the beauty of the landscapes such Aubrac or of the villages and the thousand churches here on three routes are located on the World Heritage of UNESCO.

Save definitely not a visit to Lourdes, take time to explore this beautiful city bekijken.Lourdes, located in the heart of the Pyrenees, receives 5 million visitors annually from around the world. Here is the spiritual nature, whether in history or legend is, part of the present by the power and beauty of this town, the stamp of the past and the modesty of the heiligdommen.Lourdes was just a small hamlet when Bernadette Soubirous on February 11, 1858 on the banks of the Gave, the "Lady" who met the city morphed into a Marian place.
Lovely stroll across the flea markets in the area or the work provider greniers ..... every week there are 1 or 2 in the vicinity vinden.Ik can not get enough and will therefore always have another round on the market go in case I even "something" would have missed that .... Ed vemeldt every time I've seen everything anyway .... until he too beach at a market stall with all 2nd hand tools ....

And then 12 hours .... the sellers leave their stall for extensive dining with friends or cover a table to sit down and chat and eat with fellow stall enjoyed. Oh .. how friendly all.
And we ... ah we move on, enjoy a delicious simple meal and a glass of wine and then just make a circle.
Several major supermarkets are located in Lannemezan.

The weekly market on wednesday is worth the visit, please take the time to do it. Do not be surprised to see the sale of chickens and other animals on the market, but this takes place only in the early hours.

In a local building, hidden between the market stalls, you can find the sellers who sell their own goods from their own garden, talkative and awaiting whether they will sell all their products this time, as well as organic products from the Gers.

Table cozy with the French or drink coffee on a terrace, and see how after a busy market trip, rest in Lannemezan.

The markets of Trie sur Baise on Tuesday and Castelnau Magnoac on Saturday are worth the visit. Not only the markets, both have to tell history. They are typical French towns with a sweet atmosphere. In addition, it is a wonderful outing to buy fresh bread on Sunday in Trie. Every time, after buying bread, it invites you to drink a cup of coffee on the terrace and enjoy the cozy French atmosphere. Even the small supermarket, the newspaper kiosk and greengrocer are open.

Trie is nationally known for his Championnat de France du "cri du cochon" in August, either a contest in which the participants fight each other who can best imitate the sound of a pig. Hilarity is already being done, small plays are performed by the participants and obviously the color is pink as if the pig's color is clearly present.

The French do not turn their hand to drive for 100 km. Distances that are normal in France and sometimes we do the eyebrows, but oh we have also adapted ourselves. So we drive 100 km to go to the cozy market in Isle de Jourdain on Saturday morning. Special markets are those of Gimont on Wednesday and Monday in Samatan. The goose liver and duck meat is sold here in the ancient market halls. In Giroussen, known for its pottery art, the largest pottery market in the Midi-Pyrenees has been held since the 17th century. The nearby village of Rabastens offers the "Biocybèle", a delicious organic market. In Rabastens-de-Bigorre you can enjoy the "Lou Gran Marcat" in July, an old-fashioned farmers market where residents in costumes, rides and musicians increase the atmosphere even more. In Auch, medieval markets and Trie sur Baise are every year the "pig market" with a real contest who can best do a pig!
Although we only started in May 2008 with the hiring of our house, we give below some comments back.

August 2008.We have just returned from two weeks "La bicyclette" and it was a wonderful holiday! Despite the fact that the weather is a bit disappointing we enjoyed the tranquility, the beautiful house, the welcome and the beautiful surroundings! A must for hikers and nature lovers, and our son has enjoyed the beautiful garden!

July 2008.

Antoinette and I finally got the chance to see how after 8 years of hard work and creativity, your french house would look like.
Upon arrival, the cozy French atmosphere radiated from there, if only by the colors around the building that you have managed to create.
Of course the whole house inside view, especially the interior made us surprised, it's well equipped, even here the atmosphere is again displayed excellent.
After a relaxing night in one of the beautiful bedrooms, it was great to get up and immediately as you step outside to look at a beautiful orchard with kiwi, plums, cherries, etc.

And further the country, the views of the Pyrenees with its snowy peaks, we imagined ourselves as' GOD IN FRANCE.

We have great fun with can walk, about 5 minutes 'walk we came to' t large nature reserve where you can spot all kinds of birds and other species. We were lucky that a very large group of carp on the edge of the lake, swam, "great".

The next day we went to the start of the TOUR DE FRANCE look in LANNEMEZAN, what an experience, and fun that we could take to make this a great happening.Lannemezan is a lively city with lots of terraces where we ate delicious.

In the area there is also the firm Auberge, a nice location, good wine, great food, and especially in the evening hours with the sun and the moon during the late hours, an adventure to be sure to repeat. For then is really saying 'THE COUNTRY WHERE LIFE IS GOOD ".

A week is too short!

We also had to play golf, but we do so the next time as we discuss in good health for sure next year weer.YVON, ED IT WAS GREAT

Dear Ed and Yvon,

What a great week and what a treat ...
You first look at your site, you read and see pictures, you form a picture. but the reality is even better!

Whenever we were surprised with how much love and how much detail this house has been refurbished and decorated and how complete it is!
We had beautiful weather and have a lot outside in the hammocks and located under the roof sat. But I can still very well imagine what it's get to some cooler weather to sit by the fireplace with a glass of wine and a book ..

The house and surroundings gave us peace. As a matter of pace seemed calm down .. we enjoyed the view, the long evenings, the silence, the birds, the fruit in the garden, a place in or out of the sun, a walk .. actually it was the house and the garden is enough for us and we have little felt the need to undertake actions.

Maybe we do that next time, because that is something we come back for sure. Many thanks for your hospitality.
Karin and Hans, Aerdenhout.
June-July 2008

We spent 3 weeks in this lovely little village near the Pyrenees.

The house has beautifully restored bone with a woodburning stove (fab For those cool spring - or autumn - evenings), very well equipped kitchen and bathroom.

If you want a taste of genuine French country life, tranquility, nature, this is it. And if you really feel you should do a bit of sightseeing that's here too. Or else just relax in the garden and sip the local wine as you watch the sun go down. A great way to finish the day!

Hi Ed and Yvonne,
We want to thank you again for your hospitality.
A paradise can not describe (not even by means of a site), this should really enjoy yourself.
We still enjoy after the neighbor's asleep in his wheelbarrow after consuming his coffee.
Already looking at him flew at 2 m distance an owl past us.

The tranquility and the surroundings are beautiful. We are definitely more along.
Greetings Mary and Rene
May-June 2008

Beautiful walks, around the lake and there are various walking gevolgd.Ook's visit to Pau and Lourdes was easy to drive and then go to enjoy the beautiful mountain peaks.

We will be back, as you can on rekenen.Margo, John William, Esther and Eagle

December 2008-January 2009

La Bicyclette Bleue is a very carefully restored farmhouse. This comes
Expressed in the interior of the house itself but also the attention that the
Owners have for the large garden that has more than enough space to
Carefree to be able to recreate.

It is located in a beautiful area with access to a half-hour drive
Gives to the Pyrenees or cozy places like Lannemezan, Tarbes or Saint

We do not allow especially the restorative facilities in this area
forget. You will find a range of nice, cozy real French occasions
Fortunately, not too spoiled by too many tourists. For a day trip
Toulouse, Carcasonne and Albi are real recomendations for those who have a piece
Want to snatch history. And then after a day or two, enjoy again
Of the rest in Campuzan. Thank you for your Christmas card!

We really enjoyed these 2 weeks and the weather was exceptional

We gladly give your address to friends and acquaintances!

February 2009:
Reaction Family Mulder:
We only have a few days left of our vacation in your house. And ... again at work. But what we can do is be great.
What an incredibly cozy house and we have admired how everything has been worked out in terms of colors and details.
We had a lovely weather and this was the first winter sport to stay home from time to time (on a sun lounger) and the rest of the family went skiing.
We will definitely be back !!!
We asked Lesley for the first day to create a wood stove, because we had not eaten a "cheese". Brrrrr when cold, but we can burn fire now.
Greetings Nico, Simone, Amber and Eve.
Hi Yvon and Ed,
We spent a wonderful 3 weeks in your cottage. For us it could have been called "Le petit paradise" but well it already had a name.
The weeks have flown!
Also in your house we could dream for a moment of three weeks how it would be to live in France.
We enjoyed the rest, the space and the casualness. We did not bother us for a moment. In the first days we snatched deliciously and chopped off the plums. Fortunately, we have been able to surrender to read the books brought. The children are also well-liked with the Bratzpoppen, their characters, but also reading.
We have Cap de Long. Gavarnie and Luchon visited. Beautiful scenery ... overwhelming! We found it very worth it.
Unfortunately, we can not really afford to go hiking, our favorite leisure time, because of the warmth. Yet, from your house, on a slightly cloudy day, we have made a nice walk in the area.
By surprise, we have taken note of the insects around, but also in the house! (You can not leave doors open.) There was some rust in one of our pillows. Fortunately, that did not prove to be the huge spin we had seen in the corner of one of the bedrooms before. After picking up the kisses we saw a huge green grasshopper of 10 cm, which was ready to put eggs in the pillowcase. In a deep-freezer box, we gave him cautious freedom, so that she could start her evening concert.
Tiny young ... and then those hail! In the afternoon we had been to Cap de Long! When we got home we had a nice time in the garden. In the direction of the Pyrenees we saw a thunderstorm. The air was so threatening that we decided to put the couches and the pillows in the barn. It was raining and it started to rain when we sat on the porch. Because the rain was pouring out and a roof tile had fallen over us, we quickly ran into the house.
Not long afterwards we were looking at the pond with a photo camera in the doorway which at that time had a lot of resemblance to a storm in the Oosterschelde. The crane bird, who spent some quiet days on some movement along the pond and supervised the many goldfishes, so that no one drowned, suddenly seemed to Jochem Meijer, who had not swallowed his pill.
Tiny young young, what an experience! In less than 10 minutes, the garden was equipped with hailstones as big as tomatoes (6 cm) and the garden was sown with leaves and branches. It seemed like a November storm.
After the rest returned both neighbor Lesley and neighbor Serge took polshooge. At that time, we had already noticed that the roof was flooded in many places, but the beds on which we slept were soaked, that there had been several roof tiles, three Hartman chairs and almost all the gutters had been damaged. Fortunately, the kitchen had no water damage. To minimize the damage in the cottage, we have removed everything that could help catch the flow of water, put it out of the kitchen and put it in the house. However ... it was crashing with the crane open!
From that night we slept in the cottage above the shed, until new mattresses were delivered to you soon by your friend Gilbert.
Your French girlfriend Nora also cleaned the house the next day!
Lesley did not bring us that evening or 2 sturdy bubbles to get out of the scare. By the way, the car had also suffered greatly. The car, a Kangoo of the year 2000, looks like a puffer tail, the windscreen has been tore up in two places and the side mirror has been cut off a lot. (Meanwhile, total loss declared by the insurance!)
When the sun shone again the next day, we decided to give a positive turn to the experiences of the previous evening. We hit again gardening and made 7 liters of plum jam. The plums had fallen from the trees through the hailstorm and we were very sorry to see them rotten away. The jam we baptized to "hail plum" or in French "Prunes des Grêles". Yvon and Ed ... there is also a wake-up bottle (1 liter) full of jam on the kitchen board waiting for you. Hope you enjoy it too. We still enjoy it every day and think back in that moment! We threw the plum jam at some point even by the bietensla. Recipe: Sliced ??pre-cooked beets and 1 apple into pieces and add 1 tablespoon of hail and add some chives.

Unfortunately, we have to keep the text here as we can not place more than 5000 characters in a field, Ed and Yvon
3 to 17 July 2010
Dear Ed and Yvonne
We have had 2 great weeks in your beautiful house!
We enjoyed the beautiful weather, the beautiful garden and the surrounding area.
For the kids the swimming pool and the swing were a great success!
The surroundings of Campuzan are beautiful and varied, nice towns and villages and the Pyrenees a stone's throw away.
Unfortunately, it is up to us again. We would have liked to have another week attached. We would love to come back to you again.
Nicole, Marc, Lars, Evelien and Karlij

July 17 to July 31, 2010
Hello Ed and Yvonne
Last 2 weeks your atmospheric accommodation is used as a base for a training camp for the 3 cycling riders of our family. Several nice routes tried nearby, one heavier and longer than the other.
From here 3 times to go to the Tour de France: 1. Col d'Aspin, 2 rested in Pau, where we visited more than half of the teams and 3. Col de Soulor. Nevertheless, once again, a happening in itself, though you have been so often. Staying fun, at least if you're so sick as we do.
No wrong turn, that ad on "Wielerland", thanks Ed and Yvon!
The rest of the time enjoyed what to see and see in the "blue bicycle".
Nice to see all that fruit grow. In 2 weeks time are the grapes, apples, figs and plums, the ones who are left? Grew well.
In the meanwhile we can also start a "animal book" about Campuzan. Mushrooms who like to shelter behind the sweat chefs of Jaap and Brian. He or she could not choose which shoe he / she would take. Fortunately, but now we saw it on time!
Two deer see walking in the backfield towards the maisveld, too, we were too late to take a picture. So unfortunately no evidence.
We have been able to capture the "jumping stones". Little little ones say that's cute. Better than their big brother / sister / father / mother who owned the pool and tried to save herself by swimming in the filter. Due to the non-return valve, it could not be reached without assistance, captured and extended so that we could go swimming again.
While Johann and Mitzi, the neighbor of Lesley's cats, laughed well in the sun, we had to compete with the various birds who could have the best plums. Plums that became bigger, purple and delicious with the day. It's a pity that the birds just make the plums and do not eat them and pick the purple out! The not yet mature are for them, or not ?!
Despite all eating plums, the trees are still empty. Hope for the following guests to be slightly bigger than Bianca and Wieke because the 1.65meter plums are almost up, haha! They just warn, they are addictive.
Indeed the starry sky, beautiful. And what about full moon, you do not really need light at the pool, beautiful face!
Tomorrow we'll be back there again and we'll go for a week north to make the roads unsafe. Still not all the cols are confined and so we will still save our camp in the future!
To bellens or mails.
A bientot
Jaap, Wieke, Brian and Bianca
(Booked via Wielerland)

July 31st until August 14th, 2010
Hello Ed and Yvonne,
First of all, I would like to say to you all four that we had a great deal of pleasure in your "stupid".
What a beautiful place and what an original nice French house. !!
We have had nice weather for what we wanted to do. If it's so hot, you're not doing so much.
We were very happy with your reliable weather update.!
We loved the pool and we used it quite often.
Also in the late evening with the lights on! Great fun.
In short we enjoyed and have the energy to go back to work.
At first glance Campuzan seems a quiet village and that's it too.
Here it is so quiet that the noise of a bird flying over here is experienced as noisy. But that is during the day.
Upon the invasion of darkness you hear strange noises here.
We have used to the usual sounds like the bronze sound of the church bell which fills the evening with slothy passes of half an hour.
It's getting dark dark now, it seems that the stars are lit 1 to 1.
Suddenly we hear a beep.
"Wim, your phone beeps, surely another text". This does not appear to be the case.
Another beep.
A sound that is not at home seems like a wheel that is running. The strange thing is that it's only beep when we talk and immediately disappear when someone gets up.
Are we being spotted? And by whom or what or? Is it a mechanic at home or maybe outside?
Here too we have to break down the text as we can only use 5000 characters, Ed and Yvon
June 25th to July 2nd
Dear Ed and Yvon

We had a wonderful week in your beautiful house! Thanks!
We already let it know by text, but once again, what did you make a palace! All-equipped kitchen, nice bathroom and a bedroom in style. What girl does not dream of such a roses room ?!
Almost all days we can enjoy the fantastic garden. A paradise!
Enjoy lazing, swimming, a jar of Yahtzee.
Boots, our dog, had the week of her life. The garden provided all the space for good running and playing! And every day there was a walk to get fresh croissants and baguettes.

On the days with a bit of nice weather, we made trips to Lannemezan and Trie sur Baise. We also went to Lourdes. We recommend it!

Just had a nice piza from Le Forgeron. Now it's time to pack the stuff. Tomorrow morning we leave again towards the north.

Kind regards from Groningen
Erik, Marijn and Boots

July 14, 2011
Hi Ed and Yvon
It helps us, but we enjoyed your house and garden with swimming pool!
We had hoped for more beautiful and warmer weather, but unfortunately we spent about 4 days. The rest of the days was varied, sometimes a lot of rain, but we enjoyed ourselves, relaxed and made some trips to the Pyrenees. Having been to Mauvezin Castle was fun and the caves of Metoux.
Today we are going to look at the Tour de France, we have never done.
The plums were delicious by the way!
There was also a thunderstorm at night and the thunder made the house go! It seemed like a quake!
We hope that you will also like it in Iceland!
Henk, Desiree, Sydney and Ryan

Starting 16 July 2011
2 wonderful weeks!
Hello Yvonne and Ed
Despite the bad weather in all of Europe, we have spent 2 nice holiday spots in your "Bleue Maison"! Truly it's also called "the garden of Eden"! What a luxury such a garden. With our 3 children and girlfriend and 2 dogs what a nice home. Also as a base for the mountains.
And a neighbor like Lesley ..... in emergency situations; Like a wounded cat, immediately ready to drive and adopt the vet! Such a neighbor is worth gold !!!
We will email photos and definitely return again?!?!
Thanks for everything!
Lisonne, Titus, Vera, Thomas, Eline and Senna and our dogs Birdy and Joris

From 30 July to 6 August 2011
Dear Yvonne and Ed
A wonderful week, full of peace, swimming pool, sunshine and nature. Front deer were very drawn. The neighbor's cat also found the breakfast very cozy, "Joris" liked to eat Dutch cheese.
The neighborhood shop "Vival" is not only easy for the groceries, we got plenty of tips to see and do, real service!
Somewhat frightened of weathering, because what can be done! Now fully equipped, unfortunately tomorrow back to the Netherlands.
Arnoud, Enrico, Myrte and Laure
Hi, and a yvon
June 30 until July 14, 2012
Reading in the guestbook is fast. The year seems to be over 2 days.
But there we are again, for 2 weeks of happy vacations, with another occupation, mother-in-law instead of son / girlfriend, but enjoying the same pleasure of home, garden and trips. This year again, the weather was not optimal but still 10x better than in the Netherlands.
A must for sports enthusiasts: the adventure park near Luchon where Titus and the girls full of bravour have gone through the trees! Grandma also enjoyed the garden with her flowers and fruit! Even plums were picked up to take Holland to jam. Now the last evening in the evening sun and tomorrow back home. But this cottage will definitely keep a place in our minds. And maybe until ... .. ??
Thanks! Lisanne, Titus, Vera, Eline and Christine, Birye and Joris

Hi Ed and Yvonne July 14th to July 28th
For us, t was the first time we booked a private home. Extremely exciting we found this, our 3 jochies would like it. Should we (the parents) have enough conversational material? Now, on the eve of our departure, we can see that it has given us a great deal. How else can it be with such beautiful house, size garden and private swimming pool. The boys have found beautiful animals every day! : Peat, grasshoppers, butterflies, pray grasshopper, vultures, owl, buzzard, and even a fox we have seen. We also did nice trips: Pic de Midi and the Col du Tourmalet. Really beautiful Gavernie with its high waterfalls. This was spicy, but even our Ward (5 years) has been at the waterfall. Pont d'Espagne, here you must have been! You can take a cable car to Lac de Gaube. But we are not mean;) and walked themselves. Great beautiful, all those waterfalls, bridges, etc. The surroundings like or the movie of Jogi Bear. We also went to Cap deLong, you can go there by car. You should not have a height of fear. And then of course, the Tour de France, we have seen! Especially the caravan found the boys all the way up. Many keychains and troops have been scored. After all that walk, climbing, climbing and puffing the heat, we came to rest in your house. The only thing we have missed is Wifi and sometimes the journal. Furthermore, nothing is missing. The house is very stylishly furnished. Thank you for your hospitality.
Andre, Petra, Wessel, Wouter and Ward from Oudenbosch

Hoi Ed and Yvone July 28th to August 11th
The last day has come for osn in house "la bicyclette bleue" and that also means a piece of writing in the guestbook.
That's not that hard, because we look back on a fantastic vacation. It already started on arrival: a basket of sweets, thank you so much for this!
And then of course your beautiful house, great garden and lovely swimming pool. With the last few days with temperatures above 35 degrees, a swimming pool is very nice! For all our children, Robbin of 8 and Michelle of 11 years, have enjoyed it immensely. We have been on our way several times. 2x to the Pyrenees: Gavernie and Col d'Espagne, this is really fantastic. We also drove to the coast once near Biaritz. A day of beach and afterwards what eats in the town of Sant Jean de Luz, also very nice. We have seen a lot of animals, very many deer, fox, weasels, weavers, a tie, a snake and a lot of small spikes. All in all, a great vacation and Robbin (our son) asked yesterday, "Do we go again next year?" Who knows?
Yvonne and Ed; We would like to thank you very much for your hospitality and commitment.
You have perfectly arranged everything.
Mart, Miriam, Michelle and Robbin from Sliedrecht

August 2012
"You will not regret it!" This was assured by friends when we decided to spend our summer holidays in 'La Bicyclette Bleue' in Campuzan. They enjoyed a beautiful holiday a few years earlier. About the beautiful house, the spacious amenities, the swimming pool, the huge garden, the fruit and nut trees, the beautiful surroundings, the many interesting trips there are, the impressive night sky, the (h) fair local produce, the Idyllic village markets, the welcoming restaurants (often 'au ferme'), the rugged regional wines have already been written. It's all true what's in the guestbook! The assistant and non-humorous English neighbor Lesley, a translator who together with her three dogs and four cats monitors the neighborhood, and prepared us an excellent quiche with vegetables from our own garden, certainly must not be left unannounced. Add it here (also here we need to break down the text, up to 5000 characters, ed and yvon)
August 2013

Dear Ed and Yvonne

Just a few days to go and our 3 weeks in your "La bicyclette bleue" are unfortunately there.
After having been around Scandinavia for more than 10 years, our 2 oldest kids found it time for something else. Our eye soon fell on your beautiful house and fortunately we could have the intended period for your books. We (as parents) thought it was best not to go to our beloved Sweden, but the arrival in your home made everything right.

The beautiful house that was decorated with so much care and love. There's really nothing missing. The beautiful garden with fruit trees, the lovely lawn and the fantastic swimming pool. Lying in the hammock, picking up the plums, it was so delicious.

We also enjoyed the lovely surroundings. We went all the way to Chateau de Mauvezan, Tarbes, Pau ...... especially Pic de Midi was fantastic. But also the cozy market in Lannemezan, we enjoyed everything from.

The weather was fantastic "3 cloudy days and 3 rain showers in 3 weeks. In consultation with you, our friends also visited for 3 nights and they also enjoyed us. The outdoor house turned out to be a great sleeper room.

Also neighbor Lesley is definitely worth mentioning. She is ready for you at all times: what do you do with such a neighbor?

We are looking for a house in Sweden and would like to bring her best!

We do not know how long it takes until we find our dream house in Sweden, but we will definitely return.

You had said "joke" that you went to our house in Sweden; Well Organised!!

Best Yvone and Ed, thank you very much for staying in your dream home. It is a great example of how we want it later.

Thank you again very much!

Cor, Karin, Stefan, Madelon, Kirsten and dog Amber
August 15, 2014

Dear Ed and Yvonne

Once again enjoyed your house, the peace, the imaginative garden, the swimming pool: Delicious!

This time we brought the bikes and have cycled in the area.

Again many animals watched and even snakes caught in the pond!

Ed and Yvon, thank you very much for the great stay at your place !!

Marc and Miriam, Michelle and Robbin IJzerman

September 27, 2014

Day Ed and Yvonne

Well what do we add to all the stories .......

We had a wonderful week, enjoyed a lot in and especially around the house.

"Delicious breakfasts in the garden
"Very special insects
"And unforgettable figs

The weather was beautiful from start to finish!

Tomorrow via Toulouse back home again.

Thank you for everything

Henk and Jannie Nijmeijer
It is absurd not convenient not to leave a guestbook in our house, in other words, in 2015 no one could write anything in our book. Little stupid of us ....... but 2016 luckily the book was there again!
May 2016:
Dear Ed and Yvonne,
Make a round on the bike with the original peugeot bags. Enjoyed all the beauty in and around the house.
It was a wonderful sister's week for us and what he wanted you to share this place with.
The garden of Petterie Hillen made a deep impression.
Thank you for everything and what kind of worries Lesley has for us.
Happy and grateful for the week
Best regards from Anneke and Simone

July 2016:
Dear Yvonne and Ed,
Unfortunately, in the blue bike we arrived the last night. We had 2 wonderful weeks. In the 2 weeks we were very hot, but also had less weather. No problem.
The warm days we spent here, lovely by the pool. The other days we explored the area. Among other things, the animal park in Argeles-Gazost was on top of the Pic du Midi (although it was not after us the high price for the cable car. You can drive better by car and then walk up on foot, what we did later Have had fun at Parc de Loisiers, went to Lourdes, several museums in the area, castles, just name it. There is more than enough to do here!
For us this was a wonderful holiday. We have enjoyed ourselves and have definitely come to rest. The peace and freedom are great here.
Reception with a basket of all kinds of sweets and a bottle of wine, in between contacting you via the whatsapp, fantastic!
We hope to come back soon. Thank you for using your paradise! Daan, Kasper, Elianne and Marcel

July 2016:
Dear hostess and husband
In fact, everything has already been said by the previous holidaymakers. A week like God in France with a lovely house (to sleep in) and a beautiful outside (for the rest).
The girls enjoyed the swimming pool and the swing. Relaxed this week and made fun trips.
Tomorrow on our way to our 2nd destination.
We wish the following holidaymakers the same pleasure.
Tom and Brigit

August 2016
Dear Yvonne and Ed
Thank you for making use of your imaginative holiday home. We have had a word in one word. The children enjoy themselves in and around the pool. While we have read ourselves somewhere in your beautiful garden. In the evening it was wonderfully quiet and we enjoyed the stars in the sky.
It is a beautiful area we would like to come back to
with kind regards
Steijn, Moritz, Anna, Niels and Claudia

August 2016:
Dear Ed and Yvonne
Actually, no word is the load, yet an attempt:
Cared home
Everything present
Lovely garden and swimming pool
Room and beds are fine
Overtaking fantastic.
But what the rest and atmosphere did to us, I can not describe but believe me ... I'm hugely refurbished here, definitely come back
Love Rob Stoker

Note: Rob Stoker has written a book called "30 Messtreken", an impressive writing.

August 2016:
Dear Ed and Yvonne
Everyone who was in front of me in this book has exactly described my feelings about this house. So I can not add much to it.
I enjoyed the scenery, the sounds, the swimming pool, the hammock, the reading here and all the comforts of this house.
I hope to come back here again.
