The railway cottage is situated in the hamlet of L'Huis Renaud near the village of Liernais. There are several lakes in the area; Le Lac de Chamboux (water in this lake is the drinking water supply for the railway cottage), Lac St. Agnan and the larger Le Lac des Settons. The latter is just over 20 minutes in a beautiful wooded area. Here you can fine swimming, picnicking and recreation. Even in high season you do not have to search endlessly for an (unpaid) parking.

The nearest town is Saulieu where all amenities are available including some supermarkets and several (very good) restaurants. Saulieu you will find the Basilica of St. Andoche and Francois Pompon museum. On Saturday morning there is the local market with the finest local products as you only can find in France.

Autun is a historical site about 30 kilometers from the house. Here you can find all your daily groceries etc. Every Friday there is a nice market in the center of town. Dominant in Autun, the imposing cathedral St. Lazare. In the adjacent Musée Rolin revives the history of Autun.

After more than 10 years having been owners of our furniture shop 'The Wonder' in Lisse we decided to give our lives a different direction and we bought our house Résidence L'Etonnement in the hamlet of Le Grand Moloy in the municipality of St. Léger du Bois. This property is located about 30 kilometers south of the railway cottage in Liernais. After the renovation of our first house we came during a drive along this cute, and then abandoned railway house and decided to buy it and renovate at all!

Explanation of the prices & cancellation policy

The rate INCLUDES energy, internet and tourist taxes.

If the renter wishes to cancel the booking for any reason, the renter must always confirm this by e-mail to the landlord (even if this has already been communicated to the landlord by telephone, for example). The landlord will charge the following amounts, depending on the date of written cancellation by the tenant:

cancellation more than 3 months before the start of the rental period: free of charge
Cancellation between the 90th and the 60th day before the start of the rental period: 25% of the rental price
Cancellation between the 59th and the 30th day before the start of the rental period: 50% of the rental price
cancellation less than 30 days before the start of the rental period: 100% of the rental price

If the tenant only announces on the start date or during the rental period that he will not make any use of the leased property, he will continue to owe the full rent.

You have a beautiful unobstructed view over the Morvan. The road past the house leads you directly to the most beautiful walking and cycling routes. Moreover, there are several lakes in the area where you can enjoy swimming and recreation. The nearest larger town is Saulieu where all amenities are available including a few supermarkets and several (very good) restaurants. On Saturday morning there is the local market with the most delicious regional products as you can only find in France. Autun is a historical place about 30 kilometers from the house. Here you can do all your daily shopping etc. Every Friday morning there is a nice market in the center of the town. Dominant in Autun is the imposing cathedral St. Lazare. The adjacent Musée Rolin relives the history of Autun. The Basilica Sainte-Marie-Madeleine in the old town of Vézelay has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1979 and should not be missed in one of your outings. From here you have a view of the Château de Bazoches from the 12th century with its beautiful garden. A visit to this castle can easily be combined with Vézelay. In the cottage there is a folder with many brochures, travel guides and tourist information about the area. There is also a very detailed hiking map of the immediate area so that you cannot get lost in the beautiful nature.
