Velleneuve is a "hameau" (hamlet) that falls under the town of Voudenay, about 3 kilometers away.
There are no shops in Velleneuve, for daily shopping you have to go to Arnay-le-Duc, about 8 kilometers to the northeast.

Arnay le Duc is an old village with many small alleys that really remind you of the old days. Near Arnay le Duc is the Etang de Fouché, a lake where you can swim and laze on the small but nice beach.
A small bar sells drinks and ice cream. You can walk around the entire lake on a good path and see the area from all sides.

If you like walking and/or cycling, you can indulge yourself here. The surrounding area is very quiet and has beautiful nature.
The border of the Morvan is 3 km. away from us. Beautiful villages, in a rustic location and often with a good, Burgundian restaurant.
Further on in the Morvan (30-50 km) you will find the lakes Lac des Settons and Lac de Pannesieres, water sports and recreation are ideal here.

If you go further afield, Beaune is an absolute must. Beautiful city with a rich history and the famous vineyards of the Grandes Crues surrounding the city. The Route des Grandes Crues is very worthwhile.

Almost a must with children is the climbing forest "Acrogivry" in Givry, about an hour's drive towards Chalon sur Saone. Children from the age of 4 can do a small course and for the die hards there is the black route, very challenging! Grandpa and grandma will also love it, they can watch with a cup of coffee or walk with the group.

Horse riding? Then you are in the right place, literally and figuratively: there are a number of riding schools in the surrounding area.

In Barnay (about 7 km) the Escargot Morvandiau snail farm that was featured in Ilja Gort's program on April 4, 2016.

Burgundian food is of course available everywhere in this region and there is something for everyone. In Arnay-le-Duc, for example, you will find Café du Nord, the third oldest café in France, with a pleasant menu and specific ambiance.
But Le Dauphiné is also very worthwhile.
Since 2022, the centrally located castle has been transformed into a nice restaurant with an excellent menu, you can enjoy it in the garden!
