The renovated house is located in the beautiful Côte d'Or wine region in the northern part of Burgundy. The agricultural village has approximately 100 inhabitants and has a friendly atmosphere. Here you will experience serene peace and quiet in the countryside. The Templars settled here around 1750 and this is still visible from the stylized stone crosses, which were placed on the border area of the village at the time.
The house, which is made of natural stone, dates from 1850 and because of its high, stately construction, this house has the style "maison Bourgeoise".
Typical of this style is the attic floor, where the windows are at the same height as the floor.
At that time, houses were built with walls of 60 cm. fat. This keeps the house cool in the summer months and warm in the winter months.
Behind the house there is a spacious terrace with garden furniture and parasols and a built-in stone barbecue. Under the covered veranda you can enjoy your meal in the shade on summer days and balmy summer evenings. From here you have a beautiful view of the village of Courban further away. The garden measures 18 x 30 meters, so there is always a spot in the sun. The large weeping willow provides enough shade to take a siesta in the hammock. From 2022, there will be a 5 x 4 meter swimming pool on a deck at the back of the garden where you can enjoy swimming.
In front of the house there is a small square surrounded by lime trees with a jeudeboules court.
