The renovated house is located in the beautiful wine region of Côte d'Or in the northern part of Burgundy. The agricultural village has about 100 inhabitants and there is a friendly atmosphere. Here you will experience serene peace and quiet in the campaign. Around 1750 the Knights Templar settled here and that is still visible in the stylized stone crosses, which were placed on the border area of the village at the time.
The house, which is built of natural stone, dates from 1850 and because of its high stately construction, this house has the style "maison Bourgeoise".
Typical of this style is the attic floor, whose windows are at the same height as the floor.
At that time, houses were built with walls of 60 cm. thick. This keeps the house cool in the summer months and warm in the winter months.
Behind the house is a spacious terrace with garden furniture and umbrellas and a stone built-in barbecue. Under the covered veranda you can enjoy your meal in the shade on summer days and balmy summer evenings. From here you have a beautiful view to the village of Courban. The garden has a size of 18 x 30 meters, so there is always a place under the sun. The large weeping willow offers enough shade to take a siesta in the hammock. From 2022 there will be a swimming pool of 5 x 4 meters at the back of the garden on a deck where you can swim. There are also 4 bicycles in the garden shed.
In front of the house is a small square surrounded by lime trees with a jeu-de-boules court.
