Take a nice hike in the Mauthner Klamm. From the start about 1.5 to 2 hours back and forth. Helmet compulsory, but you can use our helmets.

Weissensee May 2025 (about 45 minutes drive from our house)

Cross-country trails along the Gail from Kötschach to St Daniel are also wonderful for hiking or cross-country skiing. Start at 1 km from our house. Rent cross-country skiing gear bi Sport 2000 in Kötschach about € 8, - per day

The front of the house with a carport covered, so you can dry the house come in rain or snow. At the rear of the house is a large balcony, with access from the master bedroom. Here you can soak up the sun. The balcony is located on the south side.

Haus Alpenglühen in the winter. The ski slope within walking distance (100 meters). The Nassfeld ski area with 110 km of ski slopes easily accessible.

To the west is a picnic table where you can enjoy the sun for a long time in the evening.

At the rear of the house are two terraces, on the south side it is covered.

Always dry the car and winter does not get snow from the car.

On the terrace of this Mecki's restaurant, along the ski slope in Lienz, you have a wonderful view of the Italian Dolomites.

Ice skating on the Weissensee. The alternative Elfstedentocht takes place here annually.

Venice. Who does not like to sit in a gondola? Venice is about a 2 hour drive by car.

The Soca valley (almost 2 hours drive from Villa Sonnata) is one of the most beautiful regions of Slovenia where there is also a lot to do. The world famous Soca River meanders through a beautiful green landscape.

Lago di Braies (Pragser Wildsee) 1:45 drive Getting up early to watch the sunrise here is highly recommended. You see the first rays of the sun shine on the mountain tops and the birds begin to chirp happily. There's something magical about the orange glow of the sun.

In addition to bread, you can also enjoy coffee and pastries at the best bakery in the village ;-D (Bäckerei Matitz)

We like to go to Italy for a day, via the Plocken Pass, to buy wine directly from the winegrower in the Friuli wine region and take it home.
