A paradise for fishing and cycling

The Klarälven, the longest river in Sweden, with a length of 460 kilometres, flows right through the municipality of Munkfors and is known for its excellent fishing locations. So, if you like sport fishing, you're in the right place (just be aware of local regulations and permits). Cyclists will also have a great time here. A famous bicycle route over 200 kilometres long runs along the Klarälven. The route consists of two parts. The first section, the "Klarälvsleden", is mostly an unpaved road between Sysslebäck and Uddeholm. The second part of the route runs past and through Munkfors. This "Klarälvsbanan" was built on an old railway line between Uddeholm and Karlstad. There are also some challenging tracks for mountain biking along the entire cycle route.
