WHAT TO DO & WALKING AROUND NERJA & NEARBY There is a roundabout at the bottom of the urbanization and there are also stairs to the beach. You arrive at a nice quiet beach where you can rent sunbeds. There is also a bar/restaurant. You can also get to the beach via Hotel Marina and next to the hotel there is also a small supermarket with the most necessary things. Recommended are the sandy beach near the house (the longest and widest of Nerja), in Nerja center the many coves with rocky coast and sandy beach, the beach at Burriana (more fashionable and touristy). At the bottom of the urbanization is a roundabout, there is also restaurant Paraiso de Nerja, highly recommended. Nice view, good kitchen, not too expensive. In the community the bar/restaurant Oasis (next to the pool) is good and not that expensive. At the beginning, on the roundabout, is the restaurant Avalon, bit more expensive. Close to the house is also the tropical restaurant Tropicana and the pub Punta Lara (pub meals only). Also on the road to Torrox there are two restaurants by the sea (approx. 500 mtr). Not cheap but nice views for a lunch or dinner. In Nerja there are three places where restaurants and bars are concentrated. One is Playa de la Torrecilla (if you walk along the beach to Nerja, this is the first part you reach). There are good restaurants and not too expensive. The second area is around Balcon de Europa. Go to Cochran in Calle Salon. A beautiful view over the sea. Recommended !!! The third area is Calle de la Gloria, from the balcony to the north. There are several bars and nice restaurants. Italian restaurant Pinoccio is very good. The Rodondo bar is typically Spanish and the restaurant opposite La Fonda is cheap and good. If you pass Pinoccio and go up the street, take the first left. There's La Molino. Most times and especially on weekends there is live music here, authentic Spanish. Also recommended in the area is La Herradura (nice beach town) about 20 km, the lake of Vinuela (30 km), the caves of Nerja (8 km), Torre del Mar (30 km) Frigliana a nice mountain village (13 km), Compota Moors mountain village (20km) and of course Malaga with the Picasso museum, the Cathedral and the citadel of the Moors. 3 km before la Herredura is an exit to the nature reserve. There is a good restaurant La Baccara where you can have a good lunch (and dinner with often live music). (the other restaurant is also fine with good service) The bay is very beautiful. (there is partial nudist recreation). In Nerja itself we recommend la Moulina (often live music), Harlekino good Italian restaurant and the many tapas bars that are located there. (from the intersection Calle Pintada / Calle de Cruz (Servillano is very good) and up) There are several beautiful walks around Nerja. You overlook the Sierra de Tejada from the house and you can walk or drive there to start a number of walks. From Competa (about 20 km by car and about 1000 meters higher) a number of routes go into the Tejada. From Nerja you can also walk to Frigiliana (about 13 km there and back), a beautiful mountain village about 10 km from the coast. In Nerja, walk along the river from the beach. Follow the riverbed on the right (side of buildings with apartments). After passing the high bridge of the Autostrada (this is the 2nd bridge) after about 3km, keep left after 50 meters. You are now walking through the riverbed (which is probably dry). Follow this for about 4 km and you will see Frigiliana. Another climb of 350 m and you are in the village.
