LA PALOMA PARK Very nice walking park with a lot of space for all types of cacti. It is wonderful to walk and next to the park there is plenty of free parking. GARDEN OF EAGLES (Jardin de Las Aguilas) to visit this by cable car is a must if you have been to Benalmádena. wonderful show. You have to provide head protection because it is very warm. BENALMÁDENA PUEBLO Very beautiful narrow alleys with flowers everywhere and nice restaurants. Prices are on the low side and the people are very friendly. PLAZA ESPANA Espana Benalmadena Beautiful square with nice restaurants. Pleasant crowds in the evening. Lots of locals. Recommended! PLAZA DE OLÉ A hidden square. Just behind the boulevard on the benalmádena side just before the marina is Plaza de Ole. Hidden away with just a small sign for reference. On the square are all kinds of nice eateries and cafes. It is a pity that the general public has not discovered this square. CASTILLO DE COLOMARES Beautiful piece of culture. This is really worth a stop if you are passing. You can enjoy some culture and history for half an hour because the castle is full of hidden symbolism. Explanation on paper in different languages. Nicely maintained with a small flowered garden. Parking near Santa Domingo Church (Iglesia de Santa Domingo) Worth a visit, also for the beautiful view. If you are in Benalmadena Pueblo, take a leisurely stroll to the square with the church. A beautiful view is the reward and the church is absolutely beautiful. You can also take the elevator from below where the parking spaces are. One more piece of advice, here are great restaurants. BUDDIST TEMPLE On top of the slope of Benalmadena is a Stupa. You can already see the golden peak from far away. You can enter and get an impression of how it is and what the building looks like on the inside. Outside you have a nice view over the coastline. BUTTERFLY PARK of Benalmadena Walk around a beautiful garden with all kinds of special flying butterflies; small and big. The cocoons were also hanging there and an explanation was also given. You are allowed to take pictures of everything that stands and flies. Exotic plants, beautiful birds and some other animals can also be found there. PUERTO MARINA Benalmadena Nice harbor with nice shops, restaurants and bars. A bit at the more expensive price. But beautiful to walk along the harbour. You can book a ship to go dolphin watching. That's not that expensive. €15 for 1 hour. PLAYA ARROYO DE LA MIEL Easy to get to by taxi, about 6 euros from Benalmadena also by bus. Also a ride on the cable car is exciting and fantastic views from the top on a clear day. There are many places to eat or drink. CARVAJAL BEACH Right on the border between Benalmadena and Fuengirola is Carvajal beach. A nice place to enjoy the sun, sea and beach. It is quiet and there are no real high-rise buildings here. Continue to the end of the road. Some nice restaurants and then just enjoy. PLAYA DE BENALNATURA ( Naturism ) The beach of Benalnatura. Run by a Spanish family who hardly speak English but the lady of the house is Dutch. The sandy pebble beach is crowded on weekends. Only naked otherwise you will be asked to undress or leave. There are showers and toilets and sometimes professional relaxation massages are provided from the wooden bar/restaurant where you can have a nice lunch for not too much money. Free parking and easy to reach by public transport. Umbrellas are also available for rent. The adjacent bay (also nudist beach) is often visited by men. All in all, really a relief of tranquility sun sea and beach. MALAPESQUERA BEACH This was amagnificent beach so clean and well managed with excellent sunbeds and umbrellas. Toilets adjacent and plenty of cafes available very close to hand. GOLF TORREQUEBRADA A great course to play. Not an easy loop, but playable from hcp approx 26 and down. Good condition and nice holes some with great views of the sea. Nice restaurant for a beer and sandwich CENTRO DE ARTES MIJAS Mijas pueblo is easily accessible by bus from fuengerola (1.55€ one way) it is all white, brown roofs, bars on the windows and with different flower pots on the walls. It is not really traffic-free, but because of the narrow streets there are almost no cars and you can easily stroll around. Several museums, churches and many terraces. Because of the location also beautiful views. Top place to visit
