Holiday house

We have special prices for longer rental periods in winter. Call us!

Proud as we are of our spacious villa on Monte Pedreguer, we have now built a beautiful holiday home/guesthouse.

As can be seen in the attached photos, it is a spacious 4-person home. A neat living room with open kitchen, equipped with all necessary equipment. 2 spacious double bedrooms and a luxurious bathroom.

All rooms have heating, air conditioning and WiFi. The living room has satellite TV with Dutch channels.

The house has several terraces, one of which is near the swimming pool.

Pedreguer is located approximately 100 km from Valencia to Alicante. We can arrange transportation to and from the airport upon request.

“Our mountain” is located in the Jalon Valley and is considered one of the healthiest regions in the world.

The coastal towns of Javéa in Dénia are just over 10 minutes away by car. Both towns have a part that is touristy and where there is always a party. Both cities also have an old city center, where many locals find entertainment in the larger cafes, terraces and restaurants.
There are plenty of options for golf enthusiasts. The beautifully landscaped 18-hole golf course “La Sella” is located in Pedreguer. It is just visible from the holiday home.

We are Angela and Jos. We have operated various catering businesses throughout our working lives and have now become a lot calmer. Our house was built in 2000. We recently built a 4-person guesthouse at our home. The luxurious home, first intended for family and friends, is now also available for rent. We spend part of the year in the Netherlands and a large part in Spain. Maybe we'll meet each other on Monte Pedreguer!

Additional information

This is the Montgó seen from our holiday home. It is a mountain of 753 meters high and is located in the Montgó Natural Park. The Montgó can be climbed from Dénia and from Javéa. There are various routes from easy to moderately difficult and the walks take 3.5 hours on average. The route from Dénia goes past a few interesting caves. The view over Dénia is also beautiful. I myself walked through the Montgó via Javéa. This walk is sometimes a bit difficult. It starts with a wide road with a split. Then it becomes a path and a goat path. Occasionally climbing is needed over the rocks. But it's more than worth it. There are great views of Javéa, Dénia and the surrounding area. The road does not lead back to Javéa but to Jesus Pobre. The descent is simple but not always clearly indicated. On the way there is a junction where you can head towards Dénia.
A little inland is the town of Algar. It is a nice drive of less than an hour through the mountains. You pass through unspoilt nature and small villages such as Polop and Callosa d'en Sarriá. The waterfalls are located in Les Fonts d'Algar Nature Reserve. The cool, clear water runs to Altea, where it runs into the sea. You can follow a 1.5-kilometer hiking trail along the waterfalls, sometimes over wooden stairs. Eventually you will come to the gorge where the river rises.
Let's take a look at why a holiday in Spain, but certainly on the Costa Blanca is definitely worth it. The whole year! 1. You can eat traditionally prepared, healthy and fresh everywhere! On the Costa Blanca there is enough space for ecological, natural and sustainable agriculture. The surrounding towns and villages are very proud of this regional cuisine. Fresh vegetables, tomatoes, olive oil, fruit and fish are basic concepts in the Mediterranean diet. Spanish cuisine is one of the founders of this. Almost all coastal towns have their own fish auction which is supplied by the local fishermen. Also for great prices (€10-€20) you have extensive menus in the many restaurants. 2. Breathtaking nature Besides the beautiful coastline, the Costa Blanca is also known for its rugged and mountainous climate. Beautiful bays, kilometers of sandy beaches and large rocks make nature so breathtaking. In the north of the Costa Blanca it is especially very green. Furthermore, the landscape has orange, olive and almond trees. 3. No mass tourism all year round. The places Jávea, Calpe and Dénia are especially busy in July and August. The rest of the year it is generally very quiet on the Costa Blanca and it is mainly lived by the local residents. 4. Good accessibility through the airports of Alicante and Valencia. There are several daily flights to these airports at the various airports in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. You can also easily rent a car at both airports at a surprisingly cheap price to tour the beautiful Costa Blanca. 5. Healthy climate. Because there is little industry, the air is very clean. The Costa Blanca has even been declared one of the healthiest climates by the World Health Organization (WHO). Summers are not too hot and winters are mild. Of the 365 days, the sun does not shine for about 55 days and it does not rain too much. Just enough to keep the area beautifully green. This climate has a very positive effect on human health, which even reduces certain complaints, such as asthma and rheumatism.
Sendero de Pedreguer The “Path of Pedreguer” is a not so well-known route with many sights worth discovering. You will find on the slopes many stone terraces, built for the cultivation of mainly Muscat grapes for the production of raisins (which were exported all over Europe), as well as the infrastructure for the use of water necessary for irrigation. It is a long route, but not too demanding. The route is approximately 17.6 km long, it takes more than 7 hours to walk. The walk is not difficult, the maximum height is 607 m. You will encounter many different and surprising things. Route description The route officially starts in the "Parque del Patronato" of Pedreguer. On the left side of the ravine after the park, we see the first white and yellow marks, going up to the Cova del Tambor . It is quite possible to start the route from Monte Pedreguer. From the park entrance, walk 700 m towards Pedreguer and then turn left. You will then automatically be on the route. The first part of the trail takes us to the Caseta Romangat area, on a zigzagging and scenic climb. Soon we gain altitude and behold a beautiful panoramic view of Pedreguer. In the background in the photo you can see the Montgó, a natural park that is also nice to walk. After a false flat, the descent begins towards the source “Font Coberta”. When you have started the route from Monte Pedreguer, you will arrive here on the walking route. From Font Coberta we begin the steady climb to the highest point of the route, Castell d'Aixa. We turn in a bend, at the height of the Barranc de la Font d'Aixa, and change the forest path into a steep one. Once at the top, at 607 meters, you have a beautiful view over the Jalon Valley. You overlook the entire area between Pedreguer, Alcalali, and Parcent. The descent leads us to the shady part of the mountain. We now cross the old paths that lead to the farmland in the area. Stone edging and stepped terraces. Silent witnesses of the ancient Moorish settlers who once inhabited these mountains. In the last part we leave the trails and return to the path that goes back into the mountain. A short but explosive climb leads us to the cave area and Castillo de l'Ocaive .
