Surroundings: Hondón de las Nieves is a beautiful mountain village in the Crevillente mountains, about 25 km from Alicante. It is the ideal place for guests who are looking for the combination of the quiet hinterland and the busy coastal area. In the town of Hondón de las Nieves itself, it seems as if time has stood still, yet holidaymakers will lack nothing. A walk through the village gives the real Spanish feeling, there are many old buildings including the town hall (Ayuntamiento) and the parish of the Catholic church (La Iglesia Parroquial).
In Hondón you will find several shops, restaurants, small supermarkets, bakeries, butchers, hairdressers and 3 bodegas. In these bodegas you can taste wine from the barrel and buy it for unprecedented low prices.
Twice a week there is a nice market.
Just half an hour's drive away you can reach the coast with its beautiful beaches, the famous seaside resort of Torrevieja or Elche which is famous for its beautiful palm park. This palm park (Palmeral de Elche) is the largest in Europe and is on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Around Hondón de las Nieves there are beautiful vineyards, almond trees, olive trees, and a very variety of flora and fauna. Various walking routes have been set out in this beautiful area.
The area is also ideal for a mountain bike tour or a Jeep safari.
