Villa Nostalgia

Our completely renovated hip and attractive saloon car from 1955 with an extension is located on a beautiful forest plot of 400 m2, near the touristic art town of Ootmarsum.

Nostalgia is located on a dead end lane that ends at a meadow with horses. From the house you can walk or cycle straight into the beautiful, idyllic Springendal / Twente bocage landscape with forest, heathland, moraines and crystal clear streams and waterfalls. The deer roam freely and in the morning you will be awakened by the chirping of the birds, there are squirrels in the trees and rabbits hopping in the garden.

Villa Nostalgia is a wonderful place to relax, enjoy the fantastic nature and discover Twente. In the house you will find all the inspiration for extensive cycling and walking routes, trips and a games and bookcase, in which Herman Finkers and Willem Wilmink should not be missed!.

The saloon car, which is over 12 meters long, can accommodate a maximum of 4 guests, has its own parking space and is located in a quiet, green, spacious spot next to other detached holiday homes at Camping/bungalow park Bij de Bronnen; a small-scale, pleasant and wooded park, which is run by the helpful and sympathetic owners Richard and Stef. There is a cozy cafe with a terrace, where in high season a delicious meal can be enjoyed for a friendly price and a billiard table can be played.

Ootmarsum with museums, galleries, beautiful shops, the most beautiful outdoor swimming pool in the eastern Netherlands and very cozy terraces & restaurants is 1500 meters away. Numerous Twente sights (estates, charming towns & villages) are nearby. Also the German Nordhorn (zoo) and Kurort Bad Bentheim with its beautiful castle is worth a visit. And for sports enthusiasts there are golf courses in the area, you can go to the climbing forest in Oldenzaal or rent a Fatbike, E-chopper, TukTuk, E-Trike, oldtimer in the immediate vicinity tractor or canoeing on the Dinkel!

Villa Nostalgia is a holiday home for up to 4 people. Due to the light interior, the cottage is less suitable for toddlers and preschoolers, and children up to 6 years are only welcome in consultation.

Villa Nostalgia has 2 sleeping areas: the garden room in the extension, with sink and door to the outside, has 2 separate beds with 1 person duvet and the sleeping area in the saloon car itself has a French bed (1.40 x 2.00) with a double duvet . For cold nights there are extra (electric) blankets and an electric heater.

The kitchen has a refrigerator and a 4-burner gas stove. There is a Nespresso coffee machine on the counter, and a Philips Senseo in the cupboard. There is sufficient attractive crockery available for 4/6 people. You can also fondue and gourmet and in the summer months use the gas BBQ (in the shed).

In the living area you will find seating and dining areas for 4 people and a cozy Dru gas fireplace. The bookcase is equipped with a "tiny" library with literary gems and a number of books by well-known Tukkers Herman Finkers and Willen Wilmink, as well as Ton Schulten, the well-known Ootmarsum painter. You will also find various games here (Scrabble, Rummicub, Uno, Mens Erger Je Niet, playing cards, Yahtzee, etc). On the wall hangs a shelf with various books about trips in the immediate vicinity, cycling and hiking maps. There is also a bluetooth speaker. Villa Nostalgia does not have a TV. There is very limited WIFI, but reception at Bij de Bronnen is excellent and free.

In the hall you will find the entrance to the toilet, sink and shower cabin. A hairdryer is in the cupboard.

There is room for 4 people on the veranda and further on in the 400 meter wooded garden there is another fabric gazebo with two chairs and footstools, where you can relax in the morning.

Next to the path to the house there is parking for 1 car. There is also a large (free) parking space at the reception.
