This unique lifeboat really carries a really cool story with it. Once this boat was attached to a special ship, the Polarstern with Bremerhaven - Germany as its home base. The Polarstern are still sailing and survey the Arctic Circle every year. They are doing something really cool for science today. One of the important studies they do is to measure the melting ice level. The important function of the boat was to save the crew in an emergency. Fortunately, it never came to that. She also used this boat to get closer to the research area, so that they could sail between the ice floes.

The boat has finally arrived at its final destination: the idyllic Monnickendam. Between Amsterdam and Volendam, on the water. Because we think the story behind the boat is so cool, we decided to transform the boat into something unique. And this is the result! Our guests are very surprised and recommend our stay to others. We hope you enjoy this as much as we like it!

The boat:
If you are looking for a cozy and intimate stay, this is what you have been looking for! It has a lovely double bed, a sitting area with a folding table, free WIFI and a flat screen TV, many channels from home and abroad. There is also a refrigerator on board, a choice of various drinks and snacks, board games and a coffee machine. As a token of appreciation, the coffee and tea is free to use. Basically everything you need! There is no shower or toilet on board, but less than a minute's walk away there is a great shower and toilet facility with multiple toilets and hot showers. And these are very neat and clean!

Location of the boat:
The boat is located in the marina harbor or Monnickendam. A peacefull place which looks more like a campsite than a yacht harbor. It has all the facilities you need. There's a big stroke of grass right in front of the boat with BBQs, lounge seats, a chill area, table tennis and even a kids playground. This marina is right on top of cleaning which you can see in the bathroom facility for example. There's no nois whatsoever. If you fancy a cool place right next to the water, or better say on the water, this is the place to be. Do you love fishing and watersports? Please don't look any further. You'll be satisfied enough, really.

Transport Location in general:
Monnickendam is really close to Amsterdam and public transport in the Netherlands are great. You can easily reach Amsterdam by bus, which is cheap and the best way to take you there. It takes up to 10 minutes only. The bus stop is located right in front of the marina park. Probably Zaanse Schans is also on your bucket list. From Amsterdam you can also easily reach this by train. Monnickendam itselves is already a must see and definitely worth a visit. It offers some really good restaurants, great pubs and a lovely atmosphere. Idyllic is the best way to describe this village. Rather explore the area by bicycle? You can borrow a bike for free! Too easy! The greatest thing about the marina park, might be the fantastic location right in between all the touristic hotspots. If you take the bus to the left, you'll get to Amsterdam. But if you go right, there's also a must see: Volendam. Famous about the history of fishing. This fishers village, full of fishing boats, restaurants and bars is a one to miss out on. Have a look on the internet for Monnickendam and Volendam, and you'll find out yourself.
