Hidden between the trees, you can hear the birds chirping in the trees from this former railway house. The house offers space for 10 people with a cozy living room, a large kitchen and 5 nostalgic bedrooms.

Are you looking for a place where you can relax with friends or family, but at the same time actively enjoy the Waddenland, the nearby Lauwersmeer National Park and the cozy surrounding villages? Then this is the ideal holiday address for you!

The living room of this authentic holiday home has a large sofa, several comfortable chairs and a large dining table where you can all sit together. Snuggle up in the easy chair with one of the many books on the shelf to lose yourself in an exciting story. The long table offers plenty of space to eat together, play games and spend hours reminiscing and creating new ones. In the large kitchen you will find everything you need to cook for your friends. While one prepares a nice meal, the other can have an aperitif at the kitchen table and keep the cook company.

There are five 2-person bedrooms, one of which is on the ground floor. Each room is very attractively decorated by the use of beautiful nostalgic furniture and elements. Both the bathroom on the upper and lower floor have a spacious shower, toilet, sink and underfloor heating. In addition, the bathroom upstairs has a lovely bath and the bathroom downstairs has a washer/dryer combination, so that the laundry can be taken home clean.

Outside is a cozy garden with lights and a fire pit for atmospheric evenings, and lovely seating areas. You can choose whether you take a seat under the canopy at the wooden table, in the cozy corner under the pointed roof, or the cozy round seating area by the fruit trees. Wherever you are, you are always connected to each other, while the lights and fire pit provide extra warmth and atmosphere.

Next to the house is the reception of the adjacent canoe campsite. Here you can rent canoes and bicycles to explore the Groninger Marenland, Wierdenland and the Lauwersmeer National Park. In short: a very suitable location for a family holiday.

Since August 2024, we, Ienke Baars and Stan van Geffen, have been renting out family home 't Spoorhuis. We do this in addition to operating the adjacent mini nature and canoe campsite 't Ol Gat. A practical note: On Sundays you can leave with us but not arrive. This is in connection with cleaning. The advantage is that the departure time on Sunday is 6:00 pm instead of the usual 10:00 am as on other days.

Explanation of the prices & cancellation policy

In principle, Sunday is not an arrival day with us, but a departure day. The advantage of leaving on Sunday is that the departure time is not the regular 10:00 am, but 6:00 pm.

Cancellation policy

In the event of cancellation, the contractor pays a fee to the entrepreneur. This amounts to:
o In case of cancellation more than twelve months before the effective date, 10% of the agreed price.
o In case of cancellation within six to twelve months before the commencement date, 30% of the agreed price.
o In case of cancellation within four to six months before the commencement date, 70% of the agreed price
o In case of cancellation within two to four months before the commencement date, 80% of the agreed price.
o In case of cancellation within two months before the commencement date, 95% of the agreed price
o In case of cancellation on or after the day of the commencement date, 100% of the agreed price
