This cottage is located directly on a forest fen, in the middle of the Drenthe woods between Roden and Norg. From the road you can hardly see the house. When you drive into the driveway and you walk to the terrace, you really have a phenomenal view. Through the many windows you look out over the water from every place in the bungalow. Here, the peace is only disturbed by chirping birds and croaking frogs.
The house is fully furnished and equipped with central heating, WiFi, Sonos music system, air conditioning, electric sun screens and mosquito nets. The spacious living room has a lounge sofa, reading corner and a cozy wood stove. The spacious, well-equipped kitchen has a dishwasher, Nespresso and a cosy dining area. From the bedroom where the bed is made for you on arrival, you enter the bathroom with washing machine. See the sky and trees through the skylight above the shower stall.
The terrace is a great place to be in complete privacy. It still gets really dark here, so in the evening when the weather is clear you can enjoy the starry sky. The holiday home is located in the Duurentijdt nature reserve and is directly surrounded by meadows, forest and heaths. Around the fen, which is not suitable for swimming, boating or fishing, there are a number of houses. However, the houses are located in such a way that you hardly see each other. There are many beautiful bird species to spot such as the hawfinch, black and green woodpecker, bullfinch, tree falcon and the little grebe in the fen.
Directly from the door there are many walking and cycling paths towards old and cozy villages such as Norg, Roden, Bakkeveen and not to forget the World Heritage village of Veenhuizen with the prison museum. Within walking distance is the Ronostrand, a recreational lake with restaurants. Groningen and Assen are about 20 kilometres away, with various other attractions in addition to museums.
Accommodation can be booked per week as standard. Weekend and midweek in consultation due to availability of cleaning.
