House with private pool in northern Tuscany

The villa has been restored in the typical style of the Garfagnana area (using the original building materials: terracotta, wood, stone) and furnished with antique furniture according to the local tradition. It has been completely renovated in the last 3 years and a swimming pool has been added.

It will be rented out for the first time from the 2020 season. Its location at an altitude of about 950m, ensures a not too hot climate in summer (the temperature at night is almost always not higher than 18C°).

The property is an excellent destination for a relaxing holiday and visiting the Garfagnana area with its charming villages, great scenic drives, walking-hiking (we recommend in the Orecchiella Natural Park) and other outdoor activities. It is also a good starting point to visit Pisa, Lucca and for a day at the sea (the Versilia Riviera is 60 km away).

The house is accessed via a large panoramic terrace: from here you enter through the main entrance into the hall of the villa finished with stone. On the lower floor we have the red marble terrace, the entrance hall of the villa, a living room with sofa and armchair, and a bedroom with double bed and single bed and a large bathroom with toilet/bath.

The middle floor can be reached from both the living room and the hall. From the living room, through a staircase with iron and chestnut structure, you reach the upper floor where there is a double bedroom, a room with 2 single beds, a bathroom with a spacious shower for common use of those two bedrooms. From here you can also access the garden and pool. You can also access the middle floor from the entrance hall, via a stone staircase that leads to the large living-dining room. Here is a large dining table and a spacious sofa, a fireplace, an equipped kitchen and a storage room. From this large room you can access the garden and pool area through a large arched glass door.

From the dining-living room you reach the upper floor via a stone staircase. On this floor we have a bedroom with a double bed and a single bed, a bathroom with toilet/shower, a bedroom with three single beds and a private bathroom with toilet/shower. This room has access to the solarium area of the garden through a glass door. From here you can enjoy the beautiful view of the Apuan Alps.

Outdoor areas of the villa include the terrace and garden. The large red marble terrace is equipped with parasol, sun loungers and an outdoor sofa. Beautiful views over the valley and the village of Sassorosso. The garden is spread over two levels. On the first level is the outdoor dining area, equipped with a large table, parasol and living room. Here is also the swimming pool (10x4 m, 1.40 m deep - open from the beginning of May to the end of October).

Through an external red marble staircase you reach the upper level of the garden which is entirely dedicated to the solarium and is equipped with sun loungers and umbrellas, this is the most panoramic area that enjoys the mesmerizing views of the Apuan Alps. Public parking is available 100 metres from the property, you can drive to the house (30 metres away) to load/unload your luggage.

The main nearby town is Castelnuovo di Garfagnana and has many restaurants, cafes, bars, shops, supermarkets and weekly open market on Thursdays. Supermarket and restaurant are available in the village of Villa Collemandina 4.5 km from the villa. More shops and restaurants are available in Castiglione di Garfagnana (7 km far) and Castelnuovo di Garfagnana (13 km). Here is also a large supermarket (open every day from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm and on Sundays from 9 am to 8 pm) near Gallicano (23 km from the villa).

Golf Club Garfagnana Golf Course is 15 km away. Tennis court and horse riding at 5 km.
