Rio , a frazione of Sesta Godano is located at the foot of the flanks (427m) of Monte Gottero, one of the mountains that is part of the Alte Via dei Liguria.
It is a sweet little "semi" mountain village with a ruin of one of the palazzi of the Malespina family.
Beautiful alleys with arches, beautiful old village houses, the source with a small water spuger and here and there wild palms.
With the large path on the outskirts of the village that leads to the summit of Monte Gottero.
Here you can still experience a "real silence"!

The Canonica is on the square with church and free-standing bell tower.
There are two mighty evergreen oaks on the square.

Rio is less than 30 minutes from the coast / sea.

Sesta Godane, the larger place, at 10 minutes. has a supermarket, bakery, pizzeria etc.
The market is on Saturday.
Varese Ligure, 15 km. a picturesque town, somewhat larger than Sesta Godano.
Tuesday morning there is a market.
