Welcome / Üdvözöljük to our holiday home in Hungary.
Our house is located northeast of Budapest at the foot of the beautiful nature reserve Bükk Mountains.
Our completely renovated house has a spacious enclosed garden with its own orchard from which you look out over the village and from which you can walk into the beautiful hills within a few minutes.
Most of the authentic elements such as the well and the wine cellar have been preserved.
The house was completely renovated and refurbished in 2023 and is suitable for families with children.
The entire site (2700m2) is fenced and there are play equipment such as a swing and a book corner, satellite television with Dutch channels and for small children there is a camp bed and a high chair.
In the village the bus stops in the street, the doctor holds consultations twice a week and there is a small supermarket a 3-minute walk away.
Bükk Mountains National Park is beautiful in all seasons. In the summer you can enjoy nature and go hiking or cycling.
In Silvasvárad you can rent mountain bikes, you have a breathtaking view from the millennium lookout tower over the entire Bükk and you can taste a fresh trout! With the narrow-gauge train you can go up through the beech trees, after which you can take a beautiful walk down through the woods.
The famous Szalaika waterfalls are within walking distance, as is the cave in the Istállós-kö, where prehistoric finds have been made.
There is a visitor center in Felsötárkány; from there there are guided excursions and also courses of several days.
The Bükk National Park is a foothill of the Carpathians with an altitude of almost 1000 meters. The (beech) forests seem endless, but there are also open spaces.
The mountain range consists of limestone in which caves have been formed in more than 300 places.
At Lillafüred near Miskolc, several caves are open to the public and one cave is used as a spa bath.
The national park has a rich flora and fauna. There are wild boars, deer, wild cats, stone martens, badgers and stoats. In the Bükk black stork, saker falcon, imperial, stone, screaming, dwarf and short-toed eagle and hazel grouse occur.
Nine species of woodpeckers live here and birds such as Hawfinch, Collared Flycatcher and Sparrowhawk Warbler are numerous. There are also many butterflies, some of which, such as Tsar's Mantle, Lathyrus Glider and Eastern Esparcette Blue, are rare.
Others, such as the Blue-eyed Butterfly, the White-banded Sand-eye and the Emperor's Mantle appear in every good location. The flora is abundant almost everywhere.
The so-called doline lime grasslands are rich in protected, rare species and are covered with beautifully developed juniper thickets.
