The Sidings – a family-friendly base in the Périgord Vert
Welcome to The Sidings, a two-bedroom holiday home in the village of Piégut-Pluviers, in the Périgord Vert. Sleeping up to four people, it is particularly well suited to a family, with one bedroom featuring bunk beds that children will love.
The house has a well-equipped kitchen, a living and dining area and two bedrooms. The second bedroom has bunk beds, making it a practical choice for families travelling with children. There is also your own private outdoor space, ideal for breakfast, an afternoon drink or dinner outside on warm summer evenings.
Guests have access to our large shared gardens, with plenty of room for children to play and adults to find a spot to sit back and enjoy the surroundings. The swimming pool is shared with guests staying in our two other gîtes and is open during the summer season. There is plenty of space around the pool, along with garden games for all ages.
The village is one of the real advantages of staying here. You can walk to the bakery, shops, cafés, bars and restaurants, while the Wednesday morning market is a great opportunity to pick up local produce, browse the stalls and soak up the atmosphere.
There is plenty to see and do beyond the village. The Périgord Vert is criss-crossed with walking and cycling routes, and there are lakes and rivers where you can swim or enjoy water activities during the warmer months. Historic villages, châteaux and local markets make good destinations for days out.
Brantôme, known as the "Venice of Périgord", is around 30 minutes away, while there are plenty of other towns and villages to discover across the Dordogne and neighbouring Charente.
For children, there is plenty of scope for outdoor adventures, from exploring woodland and countryside trails to swimming, cycling and discovering new places. For parents, there is the added bonus of being able to enjoy a morning coffee or evening drink while the children have their own space to play.
And if you don't fancy going anywhere, the pool, gardens and village are all you need for an enjoyable day.
