Railway Cottage – a spacious family holiday home in the Périgord Vert
Welcome to Railway Cottage, a spacious and comfortable 4-bedroom holiday home in the village of Piégut-Pluviers, in the beautiful Périgord Vert. Sleeping up to 10 people, it is ideal for families, two families travelling together or groups of friends looking for a relaxed holiday in rural France.
The house has a large, open-plan living and dining area, a fully equipped kitchen and four bedrooms, giving everyone plenty of room to spread out. Outside, you have your own private patio for morning coffee, long lunches and evening meals, while the large shared gardens offer plenty of space to relax and play.
The swimming pool is shared with guests staying in our two smaller gîtes and is open during the summer season. There is lots of room around the pool and throughout the gardens, with garden games for children and adults alike. The setting is friendly and sociable, while each gîte has its own private outdoor space, so you can enjoy as much peace and privacy as you like.
One of the things our guests love most is the location. Railway Cottage is within easy walking distance of the village centre, with a bakery, shops, cafés, bars and restaurants close by. Piégut-Pluviers is also home to a wonderful Wednesday morning market, which is a highlight of the week for both locals and visitors.
There is plenty to explore in the surrounding area, from beautiful walks and cycling routes to lakes, rivers, historic villages and some of the Dordogne's best-known towns. Brantôme, known as the "Venice of Périgord", is around 30 minutes away, while the spectacular villages and landscapes of the Périgord Vert are right on your doorstep.
For days out, you can explore local markets, visit châteaux and caves, enjoy canoeing or swimming, or simply find a shady terrace for a long French lunch. And after a busy day exploring, there is nothing better than coming home to the pool, garden and your own private terrace.

We live on the property, so we are nearby if you need anything during your stay and are happy to recommend places to eat, markets to visit and things to do. At the same time, we know that having your own space is important, so we leave you to enjoy your holiday in peace.
