You are a guest in a detached, cozy and practical house.
On the ground floor are the living room and the kitchen. In the living room there are two comfortable armchairs and a round dining table with chairs. The kitchen is equipped with a fridge, a hob, a microwave and an oven; There is a washing machine in the utility room.
On the first floor is an open sleeping area with a double bed (140x190), and a single bed. Adjacent to the sleeping area is a bathroom with bath-shower, sink and toilet.
Wi-Fi is available.
The house has central heating for the chilly days.
In front of the house is a terrace with (dining) table and chairs, and 2 lazy chairs. There are also 2 reclining chairs in the garden. There you have a view of the small valley bordered by forest.
You can use the 9.00 x 4.70 swimming pool and also the poolside sundeck.
Our house is on the same property, but between our house and the gîte is a large house, which is used as a recreation room and offers privacy to the garden of the gîte. Our total area is 5 hectares.
the gite is located between the two major rivers Dordogne and Lot. Oak forest is interspersed with farmyards and small fields, walnut and truffle orchards and vineyards.
The location is very convenient for numerous excursions to sights in the area, such as prehistoric and other caves, medieval castles and towns, a pottery village, workshops, the Zadkine Museum, gardens and markets worth seeing.
The beautiful surroundings invite you to all kinds of activities, such as hiking, cycling, swimming and canoeing. But you can also stay close to home and enjoy the peace and quiet in the garden or swim and sunbathe on the sun terrace.
In the village is the "chai" (building where the wine is made and stored) of the Vin de Domme, the wine of this region, where you can taste wine without obligation. At the chai there is a lookout tower, from which you can see as far as Auvergne on a clear day. Opposite is a brasserie between the vineyards. But of course there are also the wine castles a little to the south along the Lot: the Vin de Cahors.
Those who love good food can indulge themselves (and loosen their belt) in one of the many restaurants with regional dishes or with more refined French cuisine. Regional products include duck pâté and foie gras, saffron and walnuts (walnut cake!), truffles, cèpes (porcini mushrooms), strawberries, and fresh goat cheeses.
About 4 km away is Salviac with pharmacy, post office, bank, bakery, butcher and supermarket and 14 km away is a provincial town (Gourdon) with many shops and large supermarkets.
The Saturday market of Sarlat is a household name for many tourists, as are the Sunday markets in Cazals and St. Cyprien.
