- Erp is a place name that is not just found in Ariège: Erp is also a village in the German state of North Rhine Westphalia, a village in the Dutch province of Noord-Brabant (part of the town of Veghel) and a district in Eindhoven, also in the Netherlands.
- Tip: a day trip to the mountainous mini-state of Andorra or to the citadel of Carcassonne.
- The history of the region was marked by the Cathars and the ‘Counts of Foix’, who included Henry IV, Gaston III Phoebus and Gascon d’Artagnan.
