In our miller's house, the stream flows under the window, authenticity without sacrificing comfort. You can enjoy a hot tub, barrel sauna, a dip in the natural pond in the middle of nature, only 7 km from Maastricht. From the mill domain you walk directly into the Hoge Kempen National Park. You are a stone's throw from the river park Maasvallei, the cycling network, barefoot path, ...
If you want to recharge your batteries, you have come to the right place at our water mill; close to home, far away from the world. From the nature house you look out over the Hoge Kempen National Park with an area of 5,700 ha & 7,000 plant and animal species. The relaxation options on our domain are all about slowing down. The Finnish hot tub and barrel sauna are wood-fired. The wood comes from management on their own mill domain. You can float on the raft or swim a few lengths in the mill pond, which is fed by springs on our plot.
The miller's house was completely restored in 2018 with as much respect as possible for authentic elements without sacrificing comfort. The nature house is located at the end of a dead end street, rest assured! Consciously choose authenticity, enjoy a stay in a unique heritage and contribute to its preservation. Find peace and connection with your environment, yourself and your loved ones with a lasting impact long after your stay. Farm horse Louise feasts on our meadows, if you want to go out with the carriage, ask us.
The mill domain connects to the Hoge Kempen National Park. From our meadows you walk up a recognized Premium-Wander-Route of 12 km. If you prefer a different route, follow the path in the other direction and after 1 km you will arrive at Poort Pietersheim. A walk of 5 km takes you to the count's "town" of Oud-Rekem, declared "The most beautiful village in Flanders" in 2008, and also the starting point for beautiful walks along the banks of the Meuse through the River Park Maasvallei. Visit the water castle of Pietersheim on foot or take the bus 700m from our door to Maastricht, Maasmechelen Village, ... or why not to one of the other entrance gates of the National Park. For the management of our plot, we are assisted by Manx Loagthan sheep who provide natural grazing on the dikes. You can enjoy nature in one of the sitting areas around the pond.
