We stayed here (Hem Bram) for 2 weeks this summer and had a quiet and relaxing time which we enjoyed very much. The house is on a beautiful, secluded plot and very comfortably furnished.

We stayed here (Hem Bram) for 2 weeks this summer and had a quiet and relaxing time which we enjoyed very much. The house is on a beautiful, secluded plot and very comfortably furnished.
We visited Sweden for the 6th time, but were in the Värmland region for the first time and we have to say that we enjoyed it very much. From Munkfors, we have been able to make many great excursions. Horseback riding, hiking and swimming, everything in the area within easy reach.
Overall, the holiday home is highly recommended.

The house is beautiful and fully equipped. Washing machine, dishwasher, fully equipped kitchen. The wood stove was very cozy and it was a nice extra that we found 'ticket to ride...

The cottage is surrounded by a lawn and surrounded by trees. No view, but a beautiful garden, with trampoline and swings.

When we arrived, there was a fallen tree on one of the two driveways to the house, which was cleaned up the same day by the caretakers, who are also Dutch.

From the cottage you can walk on the Klarälvsbanan (bike path) to a (bit boring) museum, where you can get an ice cream and where there is also a small beach nearby. And a waterfall (when the lock is open)

We found the surroundings quite boring. 55 minutes drive to a cool playground in Karlstad (mariebergsskogen). And not much to do in the vicinity. There is nothing to do in Munkfors. There are two supermarkets. The swimming pool in Hagfors was closed for the whole of July.

Three tips:
The Railway Museum in hagfors. Here you can take a trip on an old train track on a rail bike.

Rastplats Rådasjön: beautiful terrace with a view over the lake. (15 min drive)

Glasscafé sunnemoslantiv in sunnemo. For a delicious ice cream.

And we missed guestbook in the cottage :) It's always nice to read where others have been.

We had a very nice holiday, really enjoyed the house. Perhaps as a tip to take away is to place blackout curtains in the bedrooms.

The location is very free in terms of privacy, don't expect a wide view because you are surrounded by forest (also beautiful). The house is located just outside the village. The downside is that the traffic on motorway 62 is oc...

The location is very free in terms of privacy, don't expect a wide view because you are surrounded by forest (also beautiful). The house is located just outside the village. The downside is that the traffic on motorway 62 is occasionally audible.
The contact with the manager is easy and pleasant. The house is equipped with all the necessary facilities, we did not miss anything in any case. There were even umbrellas available. Slept well on the existing beds. In each bedroom there are mosquito nets on the windows.

We give a slightly lower score for hygiene because the bathroom in particular needs an update. We have reported this to the manager and owners. In the meantime, they have been there themselves to improve things.
We had 2 weeks of beautiful weather and then the spacious garden with beautiful garden furniture is a godsend. Fresh currants every morning. gooseberries and raspberries from the 'own' garden at breakfast outside. Also in the evening it was wonderful to sit on the covered veranda.

Shops for all daily needs are 5 minutes away.
It is recommended to visit the open-air museum Gamla Bruket in Munkfors. In addition to beautiful old buildings, the waterfall and the museum, there is also a great beach in the Klaralven if you are there with smaller children.

In short, we thoroughly enjoyed Hem Bram and can heartily recommend the house and the surroundings.

In the immediate vicinity you will find several marked hiking trails and swimming lakes that we enjoyed.

The house has two bedrooms including a 'children's room' with bunk beds. During the intense heat of the past period, the 'children's room' turned out to be cooler than the room with the double bed. The sun is in the 'master bedroom' for most of the day, making it difficult to get cool. (As is probably the case in half of Europe with these temperatures)

The landlords are very helpful and accessible (via email etc.). The administrators who speak Dutch live in the area in case there are matters that require help.

Munkfors itself was not very interesting to us personally. There are few activities to do for a family with children. We especially enjoyed nature, the lakes for swimming and made two trips to Sunne, which is further away, for the Rottnerospark (highly recommended with a nice playground and Nils Holgersson forest) and the water park located there.

We had a wonderful holiday week in Hem Bråm! The condition of the fixtures, plumbing and white goods equipment is simple, but functional. That's all we needed!

Although there is no Wi-Fi, there was excellent 4G coverage in and around the house, so you don't have to lack anything in that respect either. The location - detached, on a hill with wide views - is beautiful!

At the rear of the cottage is a cycle path and there are many walking routes in the area. Flowers from the garden were in a vase on the bistro set on the porch. Nice welcome after a long journey.
