We spent a week in Malpertuus, a cute old house. But it does need maintenance. The cottage was cozy, but cold and damp. Our medicines stuck in the box. We had some cold, wet days and had the gas heater on in the kitchen in the evening. In the room we couldn't get the heater on. The sanitary facilities were modern and new. But the moisture during the shower could not escape, the drainage was not sufficient. The window frames upstairs really need to be replaced. The large garden was amazing, as well as the expansive view. The caretaker was friendly and helpful.

Even with that heat, a wonderfully cool house. Also nice and quiet, depending on the wind you can hear the provincial road early in the morning. With the cat ideal because the house is located on a large piece of private proper...

Even with that heat, a wonderfully cool house. Also nice and quiet, depending on the wind you can hear the provincial road early in the morning. With the cat ideal because the house is located on a large piece of private property and there is hardly any traffic on the dike.

We had two wonderful weeks in this house! With our 3 kids it was a great place to be. The large garden was superb.

The house is certainly in need of some renovations in some areas, but there is also something that has already been addressed, such as the bathroom and the mattresses. The house is a bit noisy and the floors creak, but that made it a unique place for us! Highly recommended if you are looking for peace and quiet, a short distance from the hustle and bustle (Belgium, the Dutch coast).

Furnished with good beds and sofas.
