In the small village of Longfaye, on the edge of the High Fens, lies this cosy, comfortable, bright holiday home. The cottage is surrounded by a large garden with lots of privacy (850 m²). From the living room you have access to the spacious terrace, where you have sun all day long. There is a great bakery three kilometers away, also open on Sundays! The beautiful town of Malmedy is nine kilometres away, where you will find all the necessary amenities and plenty of restaurants and cafes. For water sports, Lake Robertville is close by.
When there is snow, this house is a great base to go to the ski slope of Ovifat or to go cross-country skiing in the immediate vicinity. In the basement there is a ping-pong table and a swing. From the cottage you can walk within two minutes in the vast, very varied forests where you can take beautiful walks (through the forest to Malmedy for example) or mountain bike. The Cascade du Bayehon is beautiful and very close. There are many marked hikes of different lengths and levels of difficulty. But a good pair of walking shoes is handy... In winter, cross-country skiing is possible from various places in the immediate vicinity. The chance that you will meet someone in the forest is quite small.
The nature reserve The High Fens (Baraque Michel, Mont Rigi) is nearby (10 minutes by car). Lake Robertville is about a 15-minute drive away, where you can row, among other things. The forest is different every season and always beautiful, for the enthusiast it never gets boring! In the immediate vicinity there are many nice towns to visit. In addition to Malmedy, Spa, Stavelot, Monschau, Verviers, the waterfalls of Coo and, a little further afield, Luxembourg are also worth a visit. In the cottage you can find plenty of information about all kinds of activities. In Longfaye itself (about 1000 inhabitants) there is no restaurant, but in the villages in the area (Xhoffraix, Chez Remy), Ovifat (Moulin du Bayehon), Thirimont (La Trouvaille) and in Malmedy there are many.
The large garden all around is not enclosed with a fence, only with beech hedges!
Pets allowed: max 1 dog.
