We had severe issues with the hygienic standard of it, since there was dog hair everywhere and all over the place - even in the kitchen drawers. On top the shower drain wasn't working, so we had to unplug it ourselves, and had a really bad smell in the bathroom. The landlord only refunded the cleaning fees of €60,00 and refused compensation.

Wonderful stay with lots of peace and space. It is advisable to install mosquito nets, so that the abundant mosquitoes do not have a chance to penetrate.

Beautiful house with a very extensive kitchen. Too bad about the smell in the bathroom, but we understood that we are working on it. We found the internet slow. Location is top notch! Nice forest garden with sun, shade and cano...

Nice forest garden with sun, shade and canopy. Beautiful cycling and walking environment. Had a nice dinner at the Brink in the nice village. Communication with Fransesca was excellent.

What a nice house with a beautiful view! Large garden with several seating areas. The house is fully equipped.....complete that kitchen!

The contact with Francisca, the caretaker is fine!! Very kind, responds quick...

A few points of attention/tips:
*Renting bed and kitchen linen
would be nice....
* French doors in the bedroom
is beautiful... But at night you put the door
not open....there is also no window that
can be opened...
* The carpeting in the bedrooms
downstairs could be replaced by
e.g. laminate or the like.........
is fresher!
* Too bad in the beautiful bathroom
often a sewer smell hangs....
( there were already 2 fragrance balls... I've seen there
added fragrance sticks :)

But in short, we enjoyed it immensely and would like to come back to this beautiful house in a special place!

Had another wonderful holiday in this beautiful place and in this beautiful house! And Gaasterland is a great place to be! Highly recommended.

We made a wonderful start to the new year at Pake's Hûs. It is a cozy house with good facilities. The bathroom is spacious, the shower is lovely and the kitchen is nice and large and equipped with all necessities. We enjoyed the area a lot, and enjoyed browsing through the books about this part of Friesland that we found in the bookcase. All in all, we had a lovely time!

The ideal 'escape from the city' that offers wonderful walking, relaxation and homeliness. We enjoyed another wonderful 3 weeks in the woods of Oudemirdum, and the Rijsterbosch around the corner. As we sigh happily to each other when we enter 'we are back home'...!

A beautiful cottage. Fully equipped and also present inventory such as plates, cutlery, glasses etc etc in abundance. The stairs to the upper bedroom are less practical, but we were not bothered by that. A nice big kitchen. Beautiful location with a view over farmlands and the village of Oudemirdum. Traffic on the Beukenlaan was hardly inconvenienced. Being able to sit outside in the sun (always a sheltered spot)
In the area we were able to cycle beautifully and had a delicious meal in Oudemirdum and Balk.
Contact with "cleaning lady" also key holder was fine.
