Welcome to our holiday apartment "Älvsjo Anderssons". The property is located on the edge of the woods in the small hamlet of Älvsjöhyttan. It is an ideal place to unwind and relax.
The spacious garden of 2000 m2 borders a small lake with crystal clear water. The nature in the immediate vicinity is overwhelming. The area offers plenty of opportunities to be active as well. In our guestbook you will find a few very nice walks and cycling routes.
Children won't be bored here either. They can swim, row, fish, canoe and cycle here. In the evening it pays to drive quietly through the woods by car to look for moose or other wildlife. While fishing, it is possible that a beaver swims by. In the morning, our garden is regularly visited by deer and foxes.
The village itself has no facilities such as shops. For groceries, a bakery, a visit to a restaurant, a café or terrace you have to drive about 20 minutes.
From Alvsjohyttan, many day trips to other places and sights are possible. Places like Hagfors, Eksharrad, Mora, Karlstad, Ludvika and Orebro are an hour or an hour and a half away and are more than worth a visit.
Winter also offers plenty of opportunities. A short 20-minute drive away is the winter sports area of Säfsen in Fredriksberg where you can go skiing, cross-country skiing or book a snowmobile tour. Ice fishing or a dog sled tour through the woods is also possible in the area.
Renovation:
We have been the owners of this property since the end of December 2023. In April 2024, the house will have undergone a major refurbishment indoors. A new bathroom with a spacious shower will be installed in September 2024.
Layout of the house:
The house has a living area of 107m2 on a plot of over 2000m2. On the ground floor there is a bedroom with a double bed, a spacious kitchen with a large family table and all the materials for extensive cooking, a toilet, an anteroom with a few lovely relax chairs and a living room with fireplace. In the living room there is a TV (with chromecast) and many DVDs with movies and music. The house is equipped with a well-functioning Wifi. (500Mb/s down and up/fiber)
On the first floor there is a spacious landing with access to a small roof terrace of 4m2. Furthermore, a toilet, a bathroom and another three bedrooms. 1 bedroom has a double bed and the other two both have two single beds.
The house has a very large basement with an indoor garage, a workshop with a mountain heat pump, In the basement there is an additional shower cubicle, a washing machine and a drying room for wet laundry.
In the garden there is a wooden roof to the right of the house where you can park a motorcycle or bicycles. Here you will also find the garden furniture and a BBQ. At the very back of the garden by the small lake is a Swedish log cabin. There are a few beds in it. This is very nice for the children to spend the night in.
The lake adjacent to the garden has "not" yet been made accessible for swimming. It is also possible to build a campfire in the garden. Please note! It may be that a heating ban is in force in the summer to prevent forest fires. You can find this on the (*CONTENT HIDDEN*) of the municipality of Filipstad.
In the garage under the house there are several bicycles that can be used. There are also various fishing equipment here. At the large lake near the lock in the village is a red rowing boat with the name "Pike" and our house number 144 on it. This belongs to the house and can be used. Life jackets, a waterproof bag and oars can be found in the garage under the house. After using the rowing boat, the request to take it out of the water and turn it around with the open side towards the ground so that it cannot rain heavily. Please note! This rowing boat is very heavy.
There is also a yellow two-person canoe in the garden that can be used. Oars and life jackets can be found in the garage.
Bed linen and towels:
The tenant must BRING HIS own bed linen according to consumption. Duvets and pillows are provided.

The tenant must also bring his own towels according to consumption.
Cleaning the house:
We ask the tenant to clean the house himself after the rental period and to deliver it clean for the next tenant. The house does not have a cleaning service. Such service providers are not present in the vicinity.
