Pigstugan

Pigstugan is a short walk from the Klarälven, one of Sweden's longest rivers. All around you will find vast forests, water, hills and plenty of peace and space. A wonderful place for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle and experience the real Sweden.

Whether you come for an active holiday, fishing and kayaking, long walks through the woods, the beautiful autumn colours or a winter holiday in the snow: Pigstugan is a great base all year round.

The holiday home

Pigstugan sleeps up to 5 guests and features two bedrooms. The warm wooden furnishings and typical Scandinavian atmosphere immediately give the house a cozy and homely feeling.

In contrast to our other holiday home Drängstugan, pets are welcome in Pigstugan. You can bring a maximum of 2 pets, making Pigstugan also very suitable for a holiday in Sweden with the dog.

During cooler evenings, the wood-burning stove provides extra warmth and atmosphere. A first supply of firewood is available. If you want to use more wood during your stay, this is available from us for a small fee.

Kitchen and dining area

The kitchen is fully equipped to cook for yourself during your holiday.

You have a 4-burner hob, oven, refrigerator, separate freezer, coffee maker, kettle and toaster. Crockery, cutlery, glasses, pots, pans and other basic necessities are also provided.

There is a cozy dining room where you can have breakfast, dinner together or have a chat after an active day.

Bathroom and other amenities

The bathroom has a shower, toilet and sink. There is also a hair dryer, drying rack and washing machine.

Wifi and water are included and parking is available on site.

A 7 kW charging point is available for electric cars. The electricity consumption for charging is charged separately at 7 SEK per kWh.

Outside, Pigstugan has a terrace where you can enjoy the peace and quiet and the view of the green surroundings and the forest.

Free use of the clubhouse

Guests of Pigstugan can use our shared clubhouse on site for free.

Especially on a rainy day or during a dark winter evening, this is a cozy extra space for young and old.

In the clubhouse you will find table football, shuffleboard, darts, board and board games, a PlayStation 4 with various games, a DVD/CD player and two computers with internet.

The clubhouse also has air conditioning and a wood-burning stove, so that it can be used comfortably in both summer and winter.

There is also a communal fire pit on the site.

Autumn in Värmland

Autumn is a wonderful time to discover Värmland. The forests around Pigstugan then change into a landscape full of red, yellow, orange and gold.

It is a wonderful time for hiking, cycling, nature photography and mushroom hunting. The peace and quiet in the woods and along the Klarälven makes this time of year extra special.

With a bit of luck, you will also encounter typical Swedish wildlife along the way, such as moose, deer and beavers.

Winter holidays in Sweden

When the snow falls, the area around Pigstugan changes into a beautiful Swedish winter landscape.

Various winter activities are accessible from Pigstugan. An important winter destination in the region is Branäs, a popular ski resort for families and winter sports enthusiasts of different levels. You will find ski slopes, a gondola and opportunities for night skiing, among other things.

Cross-country skiing enthusiasts can go to Långberget, where about 63 kilometers of cross-country ski trails are available.

In Northern Värmland there are also opportunities for snowshoeing, husky tours and snowmobile tours.

And during clear, dark nights, there's even a chance to see the Northern Lights. It can never be guaranteed, but when it appears above the winter landscape it is an unforgettable experience.

After a day in the snow, it is wonderful to come home to Pigstugan and light the wood stove.

Klarälven, forests and Swedish nature

The Klarälven is an important part of the landscape around Norra Loffstrand Novilla. The river winds through Värmland and is surrounded by forests, nature and small villages.

The area is excellent for hiking, cycling and mountain biking. You can choose from quiet routes through the woods and along the water or longer trips through the hilly landscape.

Wildlife is part of the daily landscape here. The region is home to moose, roe deer, foxes, beavers and many bird species.

For nature lovers and photographers, there is something to discover in every season.

Fishing

Värmland is also an attractive destination for fishing enthusiasts. The rivers and lakes in the area are home to various species of fish, including pike, perch and trout.

The Klarälven and the many lakes make it possible to combine a holiday in Pigstugan with fishing and other activities on and around the water.

Kayaking on the Klarälven

Do you want to experience the area from the water? We have 2 kayaks for rent, suitable for a maximum of 3 adults per kayak.

You can choose from a trip of about 2 hours or a longer trip of about 3.5 hours.

The price is €25 per kayak, including transfer to the starting point. Then you paddle over the Klarälven back towards Norra Loffstrand Novilla.

A wonderful way to discover the river, forests and nature from a completely different perspective.

Boating and fishing with our Whaly boat

We also have a Whaly boat, which is available with a captain on request.

You can choose a relaxing boat trip or a fishing trip of one or more hours. During fishing trips, modern fish finders and GPS can be used to find interesting fishing spots.

The price is on request and the possibilities depend on the season and weather conditions, among other things.

Brattfallet

A great destination for a trip is Brattfallet, an impressive waterfall and gorge in Värmland.

You can walk along different paths and enjoy running water, rock formations and the surrounding forest. Brattfallet is particularly photogenic in summer, autumn and winter.

Peace, space and freedom

What makes Pigstugan special is the combination of peace, nature and opportunities for activities.

You can wake up in the morning with the forest around you, go hiking, fishing, kayaking or take a trip during the day and enjoy the silence at the holiday home again in the evening.

In winter, you can end an active day in the snow with the warmth of the wood-burning stove. In summer, the long Scandinavian days are ideal for enjoying the outdoors until late.

When we are present, we like to receive our guests personally. We walk through Pigstugan together and explain how the most important facilities work.

Will you arrive later? If you arrive after 21:00, the key can be easily picked up from the key safe with code.
