Atmospheric Swedish holiday home suitable for 2 to 6 people.
The house has a cozy living room with a double sofa bed and a view of the lake, a nice kitchen, 2 bedrooms (1 with a double bed and 1 with two single beds), a spacious bathroom (new in May 2018) and a separate toilet. Veranda located on the side from the lake and accessible from the living room. From the veranda you have a great view of the lake. Really enjoy! All mattresses in the beds have recently been replaced by new comfortable mattresses.
A 3rd bedroom has been realized.
Location
Located on a beautiful lake in the small quiet village of Lindesnas (Dalarna). From the house you can walk straight into the forest and experience the great nature, tranquility and surroundings. The cottage is located on a spacious private lot. There is a sandy beach at the lake. It is possible to swim in the lake (lake is sloping).
You walk in a few minutes to a small river to a fireplace where you can sit. Here you can light a fire (wood is provided) to bake pancakes or cook sausages over the fire, a Swedish tradition. There is also a small fireplace in the garden.
Close to the house is the beautiful walking route Naturstig.
Deer and elk can be spotted regularly!
Dalarna - Central Sweden
The area Dalarna is a beautiful area. Dalarna is called the most Swedish province. Beautiful and rugged nature, culture , age-old traditions: dance, music, folklore, art, museums and sights.
Midsummer (June) the most important traditional festival (next to Christmas) is celebrated extensively in Dalarna and also in Lindesnas.
Shops/catering
Within walking distance of the house is a cozy Swedish restaurant (open from the end of May to mid-early September). Here you can eat well for a reasonable price. The kids can get ice cream here. In the village there is a small bakery (sale from home). A small supermarket, the Tempo, is a 15-minute drive away. The supermarket is not large but has a wide range of (fresh) products. A large supermarket is a 20-minute drive away.
Restaurants are located about 20/30 minutes drive away in various places.
Recreation
In the area you can make great walks in the overwhelming forests. The area offers plenty of opportunities for sporting activities, such as canoeing, mountain biking, alpine skiing (ski slopes in Safsen and Romme Alpin), cross-country skiing and driving snowmobiles. You can also make a trip with sled dogs. You can also fish, swim, but also play golf.
Trips
The copper mines of Fallun are definitely worth a visit. Falu Gruva is a copper mine and museum located around Kopparberget mountain. The Great Copper Mountain Mining Area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Orsa Bear Park/predator park is the largest predator park in Europe. In this park you can see predators, some of which are native to Sweden, in their quite natural habitat: bears, wolf, snow leopard, Persian leopard, wolverine, mountain owl, Siberian tiger and lynx. There are viewpoints in the park so you can see the animals and you have a magnificent view over the park.
Dalarna Outdoor. Go on safari and meet the animals in Sweden under supervision. Dalarna Outdoor offers many possibilities for trips, safaris, etc. A great experience for young and old. You experience nature and the introduction to the animal inhabitants even more intensely.
If you want to admire and feed Elk up close, a visit to the Elk Farm in Eksharad is definitely recommended for both adults and children.
Swimming paradise: Maserhallen Aqua Nova in Borlänge
If you want to spend a day shopping, you can visit the town of Borlange, among others.
To travel
Car
The cottage is very easy to reach by car. You can travel via the Öresund Bridge. Since the opening of the Öresund Bridge, traveling by car from the Netherlands to Sweden has become much easier. The 16 kilometer long bridge connects Denmark's capital, Copenhagen, with Malmö in Sweden. A really great experience!
You can also take the ferry from Puttgarden to Rødby, which runs every half hour and takes about 30 minutes.
Aeroplane
The house is easy and cheap to reach by plane. You can land at Arlanda airport (Transavia) and Skavsta airport (Ryanair). At the airports you can rent a car with which you (depending on the choice of airport) can drive to the cottage in 3 to 4 hours.
