Villa

Welcome to Villa Valencia! Here you can read everything about this fantastic holiday home: Villa Valencia. And about the green and lush surroundings of the authentic hinterland. The wonderful beaches of the Costa del Azahar, the casual and vibrant atmosphere of Spain's third largest city, Valencia. Look and click further and feel at home in Villa Valencia!

Villa Valencia is not an ordinary villa like those on the well-known and crowded costas. Don't expect extreme material luxury, but the location, the view, the large holiday home with private swimming pool and life among the Spaniards makes up for everything. The villa is located on a hill in an urbanization (residential area) called Monte Horquera, located between the two villages of Cheste and Villamarchante, each 5 km. distance and about 25 km. west of Valencia.

The holiday home has on the ground floor a living room with dining table and sitting area and a fireplace, a kitchen, 4 bedrooms, of which 2 bedrooms with double beds and 1 bedroom with 2 beds. There is also 1 bedroom with a 'queen size bed' of 2.00 x 1.40 and a bathroom with walk-in shower and toilet and double sinks. 3 of the 4 bedrooms have air conditioning. All 4 also have ceiling fans. Villa Valencia is suitable for a maximum of 6/7 people and is not suitable for young people, parties and/or loud music. Children must have a swimming diploma.

The kitchen has a 4-burner gas hob, oven and microwave, fridge-freezer, extractor hood and dishwasher. The basement downstairs serves as storage for, among other things, the terrace and sun loungers. An extra toilet and outdoor shower are located downstairs, useful if you spend a lot of time at the pool. There is also a digital satellite TV/smart TV and a radio/CD player, fiber optic internet and WiFi and a washing machine. The holiday home also has 2 verandas: one at the front of the villa where you can enjoy your breakfast or lunch in the sun and with the rustling of the palm trees. On the other side of the holiday home there is a huge veranda of 40m2 at your disposal, where you can relax at any time of the day. And you get the magnificent view over the 'campo' (the hinterland) for free. We almost literally live in summer at a large black marble table.

The swimming pool of Villa Valencia was completely renovated a few years ago and has a new purification plant. Directly adjacent to the house and the fenced swimming pool is a terrace where you can take a siesta with the sun loungers like a real Spaniard. In short, an ideal holiday home.

Activities

We are Mark and Monique, and since the late 1980's, Mark had a dream of living in Spain on a private spot every now and then. This has finally become Valencia due to the very pleasant climate and the surprisingly green surroundings around the city. Our house is a personal house where we regularly stay. People feel at home soon. And that's exactly how we experience: enjoying the climate, the environment, the city and the togetherness. That is Villa Valencia.

Valencia is located on the Mediterranean Sea in the east of Spain and is located approximately 350 km. of both Barcelona and Madrid. Valencia is the third largest city in Spain with one million inhabitants. Who says Valencia, think first of all, paella, oranges, sun, sea and sand.

But there's more. This accessible cosmopolitan city boasts a relaxed atmosphere and has a rich historical past. The city combines in a unique way the old traditions with new modern life. The Valencians are hedonists and the city is known as the nightlife of Spain. Remember that people are Valencians evening, the restaurants and nightlife are only well stocked in the late evening and early morning hours.

They also have their own language, Valencian. This is most similar to Catalan and is an official language in Spain. This of course does not preclude everywhere with 'normal' Spanish (Castilian) can go. English especially by the younger generation is increasingly spoken.
The surroundings of Villa Valencia has much to offer. Apart from the attractions of the city of Valencia itself, you can not miss, there is near enough to explore by car, on foot or by bike. There are behind the house in the protected nature reserve of La Rodana "some hiking and biking trails.

For more natural beauty, you can also go to the Albuferameer. This is south of the city of Valencia. Also in this bird-rich nature hiking and cycling trails. And you can take a boat on the lake. Around the lake you will also discover the rice fields, where the world famous paella rice is grown. The visitor center is located in the village of El Palmar, where on weekends the Valencians their paella.

Lovers of ancient cultures such as visit the old Moorish fortress complex of Sagunto where you encounter many Roman influences, including a restored Roman open air theater. The town Chulilla is worth a visit.

Wine lovers can visit the wine region Requena-Utiel not skip. This wine region is growing rapidly in recent years and is particularly known for its deep reds and rosés. One of the more famous wineries is "Torre Oria 'where you can taste the grapes moisture.

In the area of ??Valencia are five golf courses, El Saler and El Bosque Escorpion (the latter is only a fifteen minute drive from Villa Valencia) the most famous. These jobs are counted among the best in Europe. At El Saler is also regularly held the Spanish championship. It's also followed by a dip in the sea at the same beach.
The accessibility of Villa Valencia is excellent. Located in the 'campo' and only a half hour away from Valencia city center. A car is really a must if you are staying in Villa Valencia. When booking you will receive a detailed itinerary of course for the final stretch.

Below is brief information on the following transportation:

Aircraft:
Valencia Airport (Manises) is 20/25 minutes drive: Alicante airport at two hours, two and a half hours Reus and Barcelona and Madrid over three hours.

Car:
The distance Utrecht Valencia is about 1850 km. The fastest connection goes through the familiar toll of France and Spain.

Train:
From the station in Valencia is a slow train to Cheste which is about 5 km. of the house. This slow train we use regularly as we go to the center of Valencia without a car. Handy during fiestas or if you want to avoid the busy city. Valencia has good transport links with the rest of Spain, including Barcelona, ??Alicante, Madrid, Seville and Malaga.
The Valencians and the inhabitants of the entire Comunidad Valenciana are beduchte revelers. They seem to seize every opportunity for a party (you) to celebrate, and they're right! Almost every celebration has a religious origin where the local Holy honored. The modern Spaniard experiences these fiestas increasingly as confirmation of their own, often local identity. The experience is no less!

Some famous fiestas:
Las Fallas
'Fallas' literally means 'creations'. Valencian carpenters were traditionally at the end of winter, from their remaining wood pyres in honor of the beginning of spring. Later this huge paper mache puppets, often caricatures of political or social life. It is three weeks long stroke at 14.00 pm at the Plaza del Ayuntamiento Mascletá every day, a deafening (bang) firework.

La Magdalena
Around the Las Fallas in Castellon de la Plana. Celebration of the liberation from the Moors by Jaime I. The fiesta begins with the Prego, a procession that the long history of the city reveals. Semana Santa week before Easter in almost all towns and villages including Valencia. The processions on Palm Sunday following the period. Brotherhoods of men in togas carry pasos, large statues of Mary, Christ or scenes from the Passion through the streets.

Moros y Cristianos
April 22 to 24 in Alcoy (between Valencia and Alicante). Two costumed armies (Moors and Christians) march through the town and perform mock battles on the king of the hende Reqonquista, the liberation of the Christians under Arab rule. Also in other months in about 80 other villages or towns in the south of the Comunidad Valenciana performed.

Bous and la Mar
Early July in Denia. The audience drives the bulls the wharf / beach, until one after the other bull falls into the sea, but the reverse can also ...

La Tomatina
Last Wednesday in August in Buñol at 10 km. Villa Valencia. Thousands of visitors pelting each other with ripe tomatoes at 11.00 by the municipality are made available. The bizarre battle dates from 1944 and on the origins are different opinions.
