Holiday farm "La Oropendola" in the Extremadura in Spain
Far away from the highway at the foot of the Spanish Gredos lies the Vera with snowy peaks and many mountain rivers. In this pristine region of northern Extremadura you will find finca La Oropendola. A farm located near the picturesque Cuacos de Yuste, where Emperor Charles V spent the last years of his life in the famous monastery. Between olive and fig orchards you can look out over a vast valley and the Gredos Mountains. The rustic, natural environment full of flowers, butterflies and very special birds is an ideal holiday destination for young and old. There is peace, space, plenty of walking opportunities, dozens of swimming paradises and beautiful villages with friendly people and lots of fun.
La Oropendola is a holiday home with a rustic interior, a cozy, spacious barbecue terrace and (in summer) a swimming pond in a large garden. On the ground floor are kitchen, dining room, toilet and sitting area with warm wood burning stove. Upstairs are three 2-person bedrooms and a bathroom with a nice shower and toilet.
The walking distance to the nearby villages is half an hour; our farm is therefore not connected to the electricity grid and a (rental) car is recommended. We generate our electricity with solar energy and a generator. We pump water from the mountain. In the kitchen you can of course cook for yourself, but we also provide a delicious breakfast, lunch and dinner on request (drinks if required).
