Attractive stylish house by the sea

A three-hour flight from Amsterdam is one of the most attractive holiday areas in Southern Europe: Costa Tropical. This authentic southern Spanish coastal strip is known for its sunny beaches with 320 days of sunshine a year and a fantastically pleasant microclimate: wonderful, not too hot summers and very pleasant 'winters'. The South-East coast, where the high wild mountains of the Sierra Nevada rise from the sea, is home to one of the most beautiful places on the Costa Tropical: Fuentes de Almuñécar.

LOCATION
The park, Fuentes de Almuñécar, was built about 15 years ago and is in a fantastic location with stunning views of the Mediterranean Sea on one side and the rugged foothills of the Sierra Nevada on the other. Casa Limon is located in a park surrounded by plantations of mangoes, avocados, papayas and the local cherimoyas. Via narrow roads you can walk to the beautiful beaches and pleasantly busy boulevards. Walking on the beach or the pleasant boulevard you reach the pleasant old center of Almuñecar within a few kilometers. The park the "Fountains of Almuñécar" is still really Spanish with many children playing around the pools and on the street.

SWIMMING POOLS
The swimming pools are both about 100 meters from the house, and only accessible for young children. The beautiful tropical garden with the panoramic infinity pool always has free sunbeds with a view of the sea and mountains, is open from June 15 to September 16 and has guarded supervision. The 'smaller' swimming pool (still quite spacious) also has a great view and is open from March to December.

DESIGN
The house has 4 floors. This creates a spatial whole so that two families (up to 8 people) can stay in the house at the same time with complete privacy. Casa Limon was luxuriously and stylishly renovated in 2021. All facilities are now as we would like them to be: new kitchen with luxury built-in appliances, new indoor and outdoor furniture and very nice, large beds. Furthermore, Casa Limon has been made cozy with art and antiques, often bought at the local markets. The living room and each of the 4 bedrooms is equipped with a new air conditioning (cooling and heating) and of course there is WiFi. Washing machine and dishwasher are not missing. Children are more than welcome and everything is available for them: from high chair, camp bed, and bath to life jackets and armbands and balls, rackets, and surfboards.

TERRACES AND BALCONIES
Casa Limon has 2 beautiful terraces and a balcony that offer stunning views over the Mediterranean Sea and the valley. The spacious terraces with several seats, a long teak dining table and luxurious sun beds form the heart of the house. Due to the location of the terraces on both sides of the house, there are always nice shady spots on hot days. No unnecessary luxury on the Costa Tropical with 320 days of sunshine a year. On cooler (winter) evenings you can light a pleasant wood fire on the BBQ area in the outdoor kitchen.

ALMUNECAR AND SURROUNDINGS
Almuñecar has a cozy historic village center, above which the San Miguel castle towers majestically. This castle, whose foundations date back to the 1st century, was expanded during the Moorish occupation into an imposing fortress with a tower and three gates. The terraces of the many cafes and restaurants in Almunecar are busy with a pleasant mix of tourists and locals. In the narrow streets of the village you sometimes have an unexpected view of the sea or mountains around. In the sheltered bay you will find a beach, a marina and the old fishing quay. At the restaurants on the boulevard you can enjoy a simple paella prepared on wood, or a seven-course menu from a formidable chef. Almuñecar is the starting point of many hiking and mountain biking routes through the mountains and along the coast.

Beach lovers are spoiled for choice with beautiful beaches, while art, culture and history enthusiasts can immerse themselves in Spain's rich heritage including ancient Granada, the world famous Alhambra, the pristine white pueblos. Nature lovers can indulge themselves in the nearby Pena Escrita Natural Park, the beautiful, undeveloped promontory of Cerro Gordo and the beautiful hiking area in the Alpujarras. And actually quite surprising: between November and April you will be on the ski slopes of the Sierra Nevada after an hour's drive, where the highest lift goes to 3300 meters!
