If you want to spend your holiday in a real Spanish environment, away from the tourist crowds, but still close to the sea and cultural or other entertainment, then choose Casa Calig!
A stone's throw from the village of Calig, the pink house is located on a small hill. From the roof terrace you can see the sea, the lights of Vinaros at night, the rolling inland.
The spacious, cool house offers a lot of privacy. Everyone can find their place: listening to the rustling of the big pine in a hammock. Write or draw in the bright room upstairs, cook in the spacious kitchen (formerly garage). Showering between bamboo, a game of basketball, baking bread in the pizza oven...
You'll have fun here. Otherwise you walk off the property and walk between the olive groves, via the dry river to the village.
On the ground floor there are 3 bedrooms, 2 with 2 single beds and 1 small bed box-like bedroom with a double mattress and a large duvet. The bathroom is located between the two other bedrooms and has a bath/shower and toilet. Of course a piece of handmade soap from SOAP7 is waiting for you here. (SOAP7 natural, traditional soap, after all, originated here!)
The sleeping area is separated from the living area by a spacious cupboard wall.
The living room has a fan for the summer, a fireplace for the winter and flows into the spacious kitchen. It is fully equipped and there is always a bottle of olive oil, filled pepper mill or a packet of tea in the cupboards. The large glass sliding door offers a view of the neighbour's orange grove. When cooking extensively, there is room in the side room to dine with a large group.
The barbeque can be used on the terrace, and there is also a wood-burning oven in the yard where pizzas, bread or stews can be made.
At the terrace is an attached storage room where the washing machine, dryer and the heat pump installation are located. Garden equipment, parasols and the barbecue can also be found here.
The spacious roof terrace (40 m2) is fantastic. The sea, the village of Calig, the hills of the interior: looking far away already gives peace. Here you can enjoy reading, musing, hanging in a hammock. The 'studio' is also located on this floor: a beautifully light space that makes an artist lick his fingers: light from all sides and that nice view again.
Of course there is wifi and TV so you don't get completely cut off from the outside world!
There is enough space around the house to scratch. The finca, 4500 m2, was fenced at the time to keep dogs and children in the yard. There is a basket to throw a ball, space to kick a ball.
There is a barbecue and a nice table for outdoor dining. Smoking indoors is not allowed, of course it is on the terrace. There is an ashtray in the storage room.
The house does not have a swimming pool, for cooling we have a powerful outdoor shower hidden between bamboo. Calig's pool is open all summer, you can splash around and eat sandwiches among the locals. The sea 12 km away and the most beautiful at Vinarós. (read more under 'Additional information').
In the winter months, should it get cold, there is central heating throughout the house. The fireplace in the room provides cozy warmth. A cozy wood stove in the kitchen.
The house has a heat pump and solar panels.

Practical: from Calig you drive towards San Jorge, the CV-137. After about 1 km you will see a human-like figure made of stone and a sign with '1 km' on your right. Then another 20 meters and turn left onto the path to the pink house. Neighbor/caretaker Pablo lives in the house with the green fence. Casa Calig is the pink house on your left. Cars can be parked in the yard.
About Calig:
In the village you will find goodies: a baker for crusty bread, and one that bakes pasties and pies (ask for: brazo de gitano = arm of the gypsy). The butcher of the Spar sells tender meat.
Do not feel like cooking? In bar Nou or Olympia they spread sandwiches.
In the village you can also find: a bank, pharmacy, grocery, a small number of shops. Characteristic bars, alleys and bulls through the streets during the August festivities.
