Villa Lantana


This holiday home, suitable for four people, is located in the hills of the Costa del Sol with breathtaking views of the Mediterranean Sea (the Bay of Torrox, and on some days you can even see Morocco) and the surrounding hills.
In this part of Spain the sun shines an average of 300 days a year, and its location in the hills makes it a great place to stay in the summer.

There is a large swimming pool (8x4 meters) with sunbeds, BBQ, various seating areas and outdoor dining table. It is also a nice house inside with a brand new interior
equipped open kitchen with dishwasher, electric stove, oven, microwave and fridge freezer. There are two bedrooms, each with a double bed of 1.60m x 2.00m, two bathrooms, one with bath/toilet/bidet/washbasin and one with shower/toilet/washbasin. There is a spacious seating area with a fireplace and a dining table with more than enough chairs.
The house also has a laundry room with washing machine and dryer and an outbuilding where the garden furniture is located and where a third bedroom/bathroom will be realized in the future.

The house is suitable for four people and children are absolutely welcome in Villa Lantana, but we believe that our guests should be able to enjoy a relaxing holiday when they decide to rent Villa Lantana. This is not the case if they stay with children who do not have a swimming diploma. The swimming pool is not protected from the terraces by a fence or the like. It is also important to mention that the house is located on a mountain and that although there is a fence at the end of the terrace, it is not 100% safe for small children.

Bienvenido! We are Gerard and Chantal and from 2023 we will be the owners of Villa Lantana in Sayalonga. We would prefer to stay here permanently, but we still have to work (in the Netherlands) and that is why we will be renting out our house from April 2024. It has truly become a place to relax and enjoy, which we have carefully designed to make you feel at home. We fell in love with the pleasant climate (an average of 360 days of sunshine per year), the surroundings and the friendly people.

Additional information

- Come relax and experience the quiet Spanish life in the best climate in Europe. Where it is pleasant to stay all year round (even in summer) because of the sea breeze.

- A short distance away are lively coastal towns such as Torre Del Mar, Torrox and Nerja with its beautiful bays and rocks.

- High-level culture can be found in historic cities such as Granada (the world-famous Alhambra 1.5 hours), Malaga (45 minutes), Cordoba (2 hours), Seville (2.45 hours).

- Walking (booklets available in the house) in the beautiful, mountainous surroundings with amazing views. The Sierra de Tejeda y Alhama nature reserve is a short drive away, where you can even go on multi-day hikes.

- Mountain biking in and around the house. Routes to the beach are possible.

- Water sports such as kayaking, boat rental, diving, snorkeling and activities such as golf, cycling, museums.

- Recreation in and around the home; because with such a view of the sea and mountains and such a nice house with all amenities and such a swimming pool, staying at home is also wonderful.
Malaga is not only the city where you land if you arrive by plane, but also a beautiful city that is more than worth a visit. Only a 45 minute drive from our home.
Nerja is a lively seaside resort 25 minutes' drive away. You will find beautiful beaches and bays, including Balcon de Europa. A visit to the famous caves of Nerja is also definitely worth a visit.
If you want to get a good idea of Andalusia, we recommend that you drive a route past several white villages in this part of southern Spain. Beautiful villages, located in the beautiful hills where you will find nice squares and restaurants. So close to the Costa del Sol, but so authentic and peaceful.

Torre del Mar is an old fishing village that has become a tourist resort. It is a friendly city with beautiful apartment buildings, pleasant modern shopping streets and an older part of the city with narrow streets. And even some historical sights. And above all: a beautifully landscaped boulevard along the beach, with an adjacent cycle path.
