  • The Julian Alps are named after the Julius Caesar, who founded a province in this area with the capital of Cividale del Friuli.
  • Thanks to its crystal clear water, the Soca River is also known as the ‘emerald of Slovenia’.
  • The tallest peak in the Julian Alps is the Triglav, reaching an impressive height of 2,864 metres.
