Location & tips

Additional information

Forestry: On a mile away is the greatest rangers of Zealand with marked walking and cycling. Some of the walks go through the dunes or the Gulls Soap Dunes. There are also walks with a naturalist. Ask at the Tourist Office before Haamstede. All this you can combine it with a picnic on the beach and a swim in the sea.

There are also cross routes for mountain bikes. Beach: Within walking distance is the beach of the Point, "which is the beach of Westenschouwen, south of the forest. Here is also the "parasailing" practiced. (One can kitesurf in Renesse or Neeltje Jans.) Many come to the beach at the "trap" of Westenschouwen for the sunset. In the summer it is crowded here. You can find a quiet spot to sit closer to the pijlerdam or the other way, right, at the height of the second passage from the beach BoswachterijEen other is that of New Haamstede. There you can park your car or bike you can go there, first by Burgh and then approximately the height of the mill left a beautiful alley that opens onto the road to New Haamstede. There are three (actually 5) dune paths. The aisle is the calmest. Even in the middle of the holiday season you can often find a quiet spot.

Cycling: Cycling at least the route through the Park to Rensse and back through the dune path. Very nice. Bike consider Zierikzee and back along the seawall. In Renesse can climb the tower and there are weekly markets in the summer. Combine this piece with possibly a so-called round ferry. Fishing: From the cottage crossing Burgh in, you can after a few hundred meters to the right horses for hire. There are special routes through the dunes of New Haamstede.

Flying: When New Haamstede is flown zweefviegtuigjes. If you agree on the other hand want to watch? You must make your wallet a little lighter ... That flies easier.

Historic cities: Visit once Middelburg, Zierikzee and Dreischor. Market in Middelburg and Zierikzee is usually on Thursdays. Ask the tourist office.

Neeltje Jans: That's still very close. Amusement Park. Also an exhibition of the Delta Works. There is also at peak times usually a quiet little beach. See the website www.neeljejans.nl.

Disaster 1953: Since 2009, the flood museum in Ouwerkerk. You can find their site under www.watersnoodmuseum.nlSlecht again and still swim? Too Kamperland there is a water park called "the Roompot but would change the name.

Surfing: On the Veerse more on the north side, but also in the Brouwers (to Ouddorp), there are several surfstranden.Haamstede: Visit once Final Haamstede. In summer there are weekly 'fair', probably again on Thursdays. Here is also the Tourist Office. Throw the first Monday of the necessary information. I.a. about the guided walks. The large Hervomde Church is historically interesting for Zeeland. One of the first ministers since the Reformation there was the famous Rev. William Teelinck. This is considered the father of the "Further Reformation", a movement in the Protestant church in the 17eE, whose business' ongoing reformation. The Reformation (16eE) again proposed the Bible as the norm for Christian doctrine, but only a good confession with the mouth, only a beautiful exterior, if it remained there for. Not only words but also deeds, not just the mouth but also the heart, the experience of faith. From this movement Zealand is spread over the Netherlands and if you want a taste of something, you need to Sunday Ger. Municipality (Haamstede) or visit the Chr. Reformed. Kerkwerve church, or else further drive to Nieuwerkerk. Actually you're not really been in New Zealand if you did not do it.
